Corporate Energy Management Plan

The City of Pickering is currently in the process of developing a Corporate Energy Management Plan with the assistance of a consulting firm, IndEco Strategic Consulting Inc.  This plan will provide the City with the strategies and actions required to fulfill Provincial regulations as per the Ontario Green Energy Act.  Once established, the plan will be the framework to facilitate the budgeting and implementation of energy efficient projects throughout City owned/leased facilities.

The Corporate Energy Management Plan is expected to be completed before July 1, 2014. Visit our website to learn more about how the City is reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.

Construction Update

February may have been a short and brutally cold month but construction crews packed a lot into it. Final armouring of the west breakwater is nearing completion. The core of the breakwater was topped up with gabion stone in preparation for construction of the walkway this summer. Visit Toronto and Region Conservation's website to learn more about the work that has been completed.
