SL Looks Forward to the Holiday Season
As the cold air moves in and the the leaves begin to fall, we realize that winter is quickly approaching. This means many things, but for Service League of Green Bay, it signifies the beginning of our Giving Tree project. Each year, our members work together with Encompass Early Education and Care, Inc., to provide Christmas presents for children who otherwise would not receive them. Each one of our active and active associate members is given the opportunity to select a child or children to purchase Christmas gifts for, based on a wish list the child has created. It is a wonderful way for us to give back to our community, as each of these children attend one of the Encompass centers in our area. If you would like to help us this year by purchasing gifts for a child, please contact Renae Schnaubelt at (920) 217-1712, or

Mary Gellin
A Q&A with one of our newest members, Mary
1. Where are you originally from and where do you live now?
I grew up in New Franken, WI and now reside in Green Bay, WI. I have been a Wisconsin girl my whole life.
2. Please share a little about your family
I've been married to my husband Mike for 24 years. We have two daughters, Megan (and my son-in-law Drew) and Marissa. I also have two dogs: Marley is my Bernese Mountain dog, and Madie is my Bichon/Shih tzu. 107 pounds and 12 pounds of spoiled rotten puppies!
3. Do you have any hobbies outside of Service League? I enjoy camping, golfing, boating, crocheting and reading.
4. What is your current role in Service League? I'm a member of the Big Blue Bash Auction/Raffle Committee.
5. Any specific accomplishments you would like to highlight that you were involved in? I'm the current Secretary of the IOD Foundation, which is a 501 (C)(3) charity that my employer started earlier this year. We assist IOD employees with Financial needs. I'm also the Past President of the Northeast Wisconsin Chapter of the American Payroll Association.
6. What is your current/past occupation?  I'm the current Payroll Manager at IOD Incorporated and previously held the same position at Schneider National.
7. How did you learn about Service League, what made you join, and what are you most excited about with this organization?  I heard about
SL through the Back to School Store. I volunteered at the BTSS for the first time this year and loved it. I have a lot of passion around helping children.  I experienced some of the plights of disadvantaged children when growing up. My parents were Foster Parents, and before I turned 17 I had 35 foster siblings, some for a day some for years. Now that my own children are grown I felt that this was a great organization to work with to make a difference.
