Kat is originally from the booming metropolis of Sunderland, Massachusetts and grew up in Austin, Texas, She has called Chicago, Des Plaines, IL; Lincoln, NE; Germantown, WI; Greensboro, NC; and Green Bay WI as home (rumor has it she might be part of the witness protection program with all that moving around).
She is currently the Chief Talent Officer at AEI DISH and has worked in the Management Consulting and HR fields for the past 20 years. She teaches psychology courses as well which she loves to do.
The Back to School Store is a passion of hers and the primary reason she joined Service League. As a developmental psychologist she knows that confidence and self-esteem are as important to student success, if not more so, than general brain power. Providing school supplies, clothes, sneakers, and a general check up is a way to help children get a great start to the new year and she am excited to be a part of it. As a Southern girl she also loves charity ball and can't wait for her kids to participate in a few years.
She loves Service League because we give back to the community not just talk about what we could do or just write a check. All of the women in this organization give a tremendous amount of time, talent, and brainpower to the community which she finds inspiring. She have met so many terrific ladies through the organization that she is now blessed to call good friends.
Outside of being the School Supply Babe for Service League, she is the Youth Minister for St. Matthew's parish, a Destination Imagination and Daisy Scout leader, and active Mom to a bright 12 year old son, Brett, and a future Service League dynamo, Lauren Grace, who is 6. Rumors that she also likes relaxing with a good book, glass of wine, and sushi may in fact be true :) |
