On March 11th, Service League members supported The Children's Museum's E.A.T. (Easy Affordable and Tasty Food) Event. The free program provides low-income families with education and resources to eat healthier in a way that's realistic to today's challenges. 165 visitors took part in the event which included games, food and valuable resources. Service League is proud to have been part of another effort to improve the lives of local children.

SERVICE LEAGUE
BABY SHOWER

Spring is here and baby animals are hiding around every corner. It's the perfect time of year to remember that many mothers in our community are not able to bring their own babies home from the hospital with the proper clothing. Service League has had a long history of helping these mothers get started on the right foot through our Basics for Babies program. The program provides over 100 at-risk newborn babies with warm sleep sets and diapers each year. We work with local agencies who deliver our newborn packages during home assessment visits. Each package includes: fleece footed sleepers, sizes 0-3 months and 3-6 months, hats, and diapers.

On May 22nd, we will be hosting our Second Annual Service League Baby Shower. It's a great opportunity to reconnect with your Service League friends for a good cause.

If you join us, we'd appreciate donations of baby hats, size 1 diapers, 0-3 month footed sleepers and 3-6 month footed sleepers. Gender neutral items would be wonderful, but not absolutely necessary. Please avoid references to mommy or daddy (ex. Daddy's Little Girl, Mommy Loves Me, etc.)

We will be playing a fun game with the chance to win 4 tickets to Encompass' 2014 Oktoberfest.

Date:Thursday, May 22
Time: 6:00 pm-8:00 pm
Place: Encompass Cornerstone Center, 345 N Broadway, Green Bay
Get to Know Us:
Elizabeth Maggle
Elizabeth is a native of Green Bay and even went to college at UW-Green Bay. She met her husband Mike at college and they've been married for almost four years. They are the proud parents of their golden retriever, Hattie.

Elizabeth has worked at Schneider for the past 12 years and currently works on computer systems in their Human Resources department.

Elizabeth loves spending her free time outdoors including taking Hattie to the dog park. She's hoping to get her bicycle back out soon. Unfortunately, the snow just doesn't seem to stop! This year she is also coaching for the Miracle League for the first time and is very excited to help with this amazing program.

Elizabeth jumped into Service League with both feet and is on the Big Blue Bash, Baby Shower and Back to School Store committees this year. She's excited to be the first ever Community Outreach Chair on next year's board (tune in next month for more information about this new initiative!)

Be sure to say hello to Elizabeth when you join us at the Baby Shower on May 22nd.
THANK YOU!!!!!

On behalf of all of Service League and the families we serve, THANK YOU for supporting our programs for another year. On March 8, 2014, Service League hosted the Big Blue Bash at the Radisson. With over $32,000 in corporate sponsorships, the annual fundraiser raised over $65,000! In addition to corporate sponsorships, we had an additional 125 individual businesses contribute in-kind donations and we were able to put together almost a hundred items for guests to bid on.

Service League is very proud of this collaborative effort and to ultimately give all of the proceeds to the children of Brown County. This event would not have been a success without a very ambitious, passionate committee of women and the support of so many great businesses and organizations in our community. Many of these same supporters also contribute or volunteer at our Back To School Store held in August each year.

MANY THANKS TO EACH PERSON WHO MADE A DONATION OR ATTENDED OUR EVENT.

We hope to see you at the Baby Shower!
Sincerely,

Service League Marketing Committee
