We celebrate the Eucharist at 10:00 and enjoy refreshments afterward.

For our Bible readings in coming weeks, we'll be reading continuously through St. Paul's first Letter to the Corinthians, in addition to selections from the Old Testament and the Gospels.

This week we hear these words: "I give thanks to my God  . . . for in every way you have been enriched in Christ Jesus, in speech and knowledge of every kind . . . so that you are not lacking in any spiritual gift as you wait for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ."
Paul wrote to a small group of new Christians--and in that small group he said they were not lacking in any spiritual gift.

How is our situation similar to and different from the Corinthians? You may find it helpful to look at the whole letter this week and in the weeks to come.
Music at Grace this Saturday
Hear the Fegley musicians
and many others

The students of Valley Suzuki Strings will perform a recital at Grace at 2:30 on Saturday and everyone is welcome. It's free. August and Oakes Fegley are among the players, all students of Mary Ann Saylor. Mary Ann teaches in the Valley and in the Wilkes-Barre area, and she rotates the recitals among several venues.

We are glad to host this event at Grace. Our building is beautiful for making and listening to music. If you know of a group that needs a performance or rehearsal space, invite them to call the parish office and check on availability.

Pantry Prayer
Neighbors in body and spirit . . .

Each week in the pantry, before food distribution begins, this prayer is prayed, in English and in Spanish:

Gracious God, we thank you for the gift of life today.

We thank you that we are here, and that we are neighbors.

We pray for everybody in need--

in need of food, in need of a job, in need of child care,

in need of health, in need of friends, in need of justice.

Help us to care for each other,

and help our country make choices that will benefit all her people.

Bless this food and bless our time

and bless our city and bless our families.

In your holy name, we say: Amen.

y bendecir a nuestra ciudad y bendicir a nuestras familias.

En tu santo nombre, decimos: Amen.

End-of-year statements ready

The parish administrator has prepared end-of-year statements for all the households that pledged in 2013--they will be distributed on Sunday and mailed to people who aren't at church that day.

It takes the generosity of all of us to help Grace thrive!
