See you Sunday! --Beth Reed, Priest-in-charge |
Sunday, October 14, at Grace | | Eucharist, quick meeting, refreshments, flu shots
We celebrate the Eucharist at 10:00. Both the first and gospel readings mention economic inequities and the the challenges of wealth. For the full texts, click on "Sunday Scripture texts" above.
Before refreshments, we'll have very brief parish meeting to elect some new vestry members. Please come and participate!

Flu Shots at Church | | Get your shot this Sunday
We are fortunate that through David Moyer's connection with the Allentown Health Bureau, he has obtained flu vaccine so he can administer it to people in the community. He has done this service at Grace Church for years. This year, nursing student and parishioner Kelly Cannon will assist him.
David will set up his needles and paperwork downstairs this Sunday, October 14, after church. He will also offer the vaccine to our neighbors in the food pantry when they are here in mid- or late October. |
Vestry | |
Vestry meetings are open to all
The vestry is the governing board of the parish, and regular vestry meetings are open to all parishioners. The list of vestry members is published in the back of the bulletin each week. If you have a question or concern, please feel free to share it with any vestry member.
The next regularly scheduled meeting is Thursday, October 18, at 7:00 pm.

Stewardship | | It's simpler this year
Look for an email soon about making an annual financial pledge for the work of the parish.
The Episcopal Church encourages members to consider tithing (giving 10% of one's income) to the church. If 10% is not yet manageable, we are encouraged to work toward that goal, and to consider financial giving as a percentage of our income.
On October 28, we'll gather in the pledges and celebrate with a brunch afterward. |
Church Cleaning | | Please come on Saturday, October 20
Chuck Milostiz cares for many things about our church building, including its cleanliness. He's organizing various cleaning tasks so that volunteers can show up on Saturday, October 20, and lend a hand.
Our church has no paid cleaning or maintenance staff. Will you come and clean for an hour or two? Let Chuck know if you can (mountainguyPA@rcn.com). |
Tree Update | | A new linden grows on Linden
This week the arborist planted a new tree to replace the damaged one he removed a few weeks ago. It's a linden again, about 4 years old.
