November 2014

One of my clients asked me the other day, "So, do you ever get stressed about anything?" HA! I almost spit out my tea...

One of the sources of stress for me is rushing -- through everything. Forget the whole notion of "going with the flow." I can barely keep my head above water sometimes. And most of the time, I have brought it on myself for one reason or another.

Call it self-induced suffering. When I break down the reasons, they don't make a whole lot of sense. It usually begins with "but if I don't do this then _____." I wish I was one of those people who could just NOT worry about it, who appear to be on a permanent internal vacation. But it doesn't come that naturally to me. It's taken a lot of tempering and patience. The thing is, nothing in this life hinges on just one act or event.

Moving with the flow, with the wave, is a feeling of ease, not resisting, no friction, allowing the current to take you to higher ground. But you have to  relax long enough for that to happen; you have to let go and trust all will be well in the end and that there is a greater purpose to our time here. That purpose ends up revealing itself to us through every fury, obstacle and heart break.

It's an oxymoron sometimes. We have to pay attention to the details without getting caught up in them, and remember to see the whole picture. It's a tough one, for me at least. Here are some things that have helped me recently to feel more ease, tolerance, patience and calm in my life and to remember the grander plan.

1) Don't over schedule.
2) Give yourself time at meals to sit and enjoy without multitasking.
3) Know there is always enough time. It's a matter of prioritizing what's most important to you; the rest can wait (it's waited this long).
4) Make sure you allow yourself to feel something before moving on.

Do you see a common theme here? Space and time, keys which are taking me repeated lessons to learn.

Namaste,
Anisha
Now Offering Virtual Acupuncture
& Long Distance Energy

Traveling and can't make it to Ananda Healing Arts for an appointment?
No worries!

Anisha now offers virtual acupuncture and long distance energy treatments, previously offered only on a limited basis.

The benefits are the same with the added advantage of the comfort of your own surroundings, no commute time, and no missed appointments when you travel!

How does it work?
Distance healing has been practiced in the Far East and other cultures for centuries and more recently in the West. Researchers today are now recognizing what the mystics from many traditions have been saying: "We are all joined through a fundamental Divine connection." This allows remote healing energy to be transferred over long distances.

In more modern terms, each person carries both a frequency that is common to everyone (and everything), which ancient people called a Divine connection, and a frequency intrinsic to them, like a fingerprint or retinal pattern. The long distance connection happens through the Divine frequency and the particulars of a healing session take place within the interaction of the practitioner's and the person's intrinsic frequencies. Rather than needles stimulating and opening acupuncture points, Qi combined with attention and intention perform the same function.

Healing energy can be sent for any condition, whether it's physical, mental, emotional or spiritual. Improvement can be instantaneous or over time, just as it would in a usual acupuncture session. The recipient's response can vary. He or she may feel warm or cold, feel sensations in the body, or just feel more calm and relaxed.

Anisha will be traveling Dec 28 - Jan 12 and will offer distance sessions during this period. During each session, you will connect with Anisha over the phone for 5 minutes to discuss your needs. The energy session lasts about 35 minutes, and then you'll reconnect on the phone to discuss your experience and next steps.
A 45-minute session is $65.

Fall is Metal Season
Take care of your energy!

As wind and cold weather pick up, take care of your energy. A time of decreasing light, increasing cold and shorter days, Autumn is a time when trees lose their leaves as they draw their energy internally. Autumn is also the time of the Metal Element.

In the individual, the Metal Element represents internal resolve and strength, self-worth, self-esteem, vitality and endurance, as well as the ability to let go of emotional upsets and grudges.

The associated  systems are the lungs, skin, and colon. When the Metal Element is out of balance, we may experience depression and sadness, an inability to recover from loss, lack of inspiration, rigidity, poor self-esteem, excessive materialism, and emotional withdrawal. Physical symptoms of the imbalance include asthma, rhinitis, eczema and other skin disorders, constipation, and lower bowel disorders.

Start by getting more sleep, and warm yourself by eating soups and drinking teas with herbs like ginger and cinnamon. And wear cozy socks -- cover those tootsies and keep your feet warm! This helps your vital Life Force from escaping out your toes.

A seasonal acupuncture tuneup session can also help keep your immunity and your constitution strong. Call Anisha today to schedule your  appointment at (919) 389-1420.
Your best ideas, those eureka moments that turn the world upside down, seldom come when you're juggling emails, rushing to meet the 5 P.M. deadline or straining to make your voice heard in a high-stress meeting. They come when you're walking the dog, soaking in the bath or swinging in a hammock.
