November 2013

A woman next to me at the coffee shop is practically screaming, so I am forced to hear her conversation. I go outside to find some peace. A man smokes his cigarette, blowing the smoke in my face, and then throws the cigarette on the pavement beside me. The smoke continues to flow directly up to my face. I get up, walk over, stub out the cigarette, and throw it away. He doesn't even notice. (Big sigh.)  Then his whole table starts smoking. I get up and go back inside. (Much bigger sigh.)

Letting go is one of the hardest lessons in life. And our environment can certainly test our ability to do so. Even our daily encounters can make this such a challenge!

I tell myself to breath (now that I can), to just let it go, to not give any more attention and energy to whatever this test of patience is. Is it really worth getting upset over? I think to myself:  These people don't care what you do. They are just being themselves, with apparently no regard for how their actions and behavior affect others. The only one I'm hurting by being annoyed is myself. I have disrupted my own peace, and I'm all fired up and ready to defend against invaders!

Each moment, we have a choice. And lately that choice seems to be glaring at me. So, as I sat there struggling on the inside, I came to a simple conclusion. To let go is not to cut myself off; it's the realization I can't control another. It also doesn't mean I stop caring; it means I can't do it for someone else.

For me it's about taking out the judgment, and allowing another to be human. Rather than adjusting everything to my desires, I practice to take each day as it comes, each moment as it comes.

Namaste,

Pangu Yoga  - an infusion of life

A student's reflection on Pangu Yoga

The best way I can describe my experience with Pangu Yoga is as an overall infusion of life. I felt more connected, more alive, more aware of the grace around me, and more grateful for about a full week after my first class. I can't wait to take another class.

I am experienced with yoga and a novice with Qi Gong, and what I noticed in Pangu Yoga class was absolutely anyone would be able to perform the movements. Anisha has done a great job making the class accessible to all.

During the class, I was amazed at how effortless yet deep and full my breathing was . . . something I attempt at every yoga class but am at times hindered by the difficulty of some poses. However, the sequence of postures in the Pangu Yoga class are so therapeutic -- and welcoming -- that I was able to experience uninterrupted yogic breathing for the full duration of the class. A truly awesome experience.

There were times in the class we envisioned white light - a beautiful addition. Definitely creates a healing vibe.

After class  . . . whoa. I felt high. The space between my thoughts was greater, and that was okay. I felt at peace. Perhaps this was my first experience of true clarity. In any case, Pangu Yoga is not yoga like any variety I've practiced before. It is much, much, more than that. If you think about it, it makes sense actually. You are experiencing two ancient techniques at once: yoga and the life force cultivation of Pangu Shengong. That has to be powerful. You've gotta try it.

Acupuncture and Stress Relief
Flight or Flight results in system overload

The "fight or flight " response is the reaction our bodies have when we are stressed or feel any kind of danger or our safety is threatened. Each time this happens, our adrenals fire, producing cortisol in our blood stream. Cortisol is a hormone that, if fired too much over a long period of time, can either cause adrenal fatigue and/or weight gain. Everyone responds differently.

When one hormone goes out of balance, 108 other hormones have to  adjust -- every time. Now that's some serious overloading to the endocrine system. The body becomes overwhelmed and "short-circuits," leaving us feeling wired, tired, or just plain grumpy.

Acupuncture can help set things right by adjusting the Qi in the body, which affects every system and organ, like the Kidneys, the Nervous system, and the Immune system, offering you a chance to re-balance, reset, and soothe
your body, mind, and spirit.

A client's experience
Anisha is gifted, intuitive, and very knowledgeable in the art and science of acupuncture and Qi Gong healing. Kind, patient, empathic, nurturing, and understanding -- a positive energy surrounds Anisha and her work.

She has helped me gain a deeper awareness of my body, mind, and spirit in order to take better care of myself. I've been so pleased with Anisha's work that I also take my adolescent son for regular treatments. He loves the experience and what it has done for his overall physical and mental well-being.

Anisha is a true healer who I would highly recommend to anyone wishing to try alternative healthcare therapies. I am grateful to have her in my life as part of my healthcare team.
