On our recent trip to Florida with Master Ou, he asked the group a question: "In our modern world, there still seems to be a lot of dissatisfaction in life. Why is this?" He then mentioned the importance of having both a healthy body and an enjoyable life. However, the question remains: why do so many pay such little attention to the subject of health?
Many people become fixated on the second goal -- an enjoyable life. But perhaps we don't have a clear definition on what is an enjoyable life. Some believe if they have an easy time making money, they can have a more enjoyable life; so, the goal becomes about making money rather than actually living.
I believe one of the fundamental reasons for unhappiness is the idea that there is not enough. For some its about money, for others who are rich it's a loss of love.
And for some it's both.
How can we shift this collective core way of thinking? I heard Master Ou recite these words as an example of how to approach life: "No matter what I encounter, I can make myself happy, no matter what I desire I can have it."
Subconsciously we all have this wish. However it is difficult in the material world to get whatever we desire. Why do so many of us feel pain when we can't get what we want? If we take a deeper look, we may discover what we want is right there in front of us. And what needs to change is our attitude and approach.
When we seek things in this world, including money, our sincerity and intention matters. This is when we find true satisfaction and happiness. When our sincerity is strong and intention is noble, we can never fail, because our HEARTS have succeeded. We make choices from a place of wanting good things for both ourselves and others. This kind of success shifts our lives from "tolerable" to "extraordinary," and gives us a deeper joy that money can never bring. When we are happier, our health naturally improves. The two are not separate.
Master Ou said, "Make sure the money you have can satisfy your basic material needs in your life. And then share your life with the people you love." When we share experiences and accomplishments with people we love, we feel alive and content. But if we focus only on our own enjoyment, it won't give us much. So, let's not just live for ourselves! Let us learn to take care of the people around us, our family, and our friends, and share happiness with them. Only then will happiness be lasting.
As we celebrate Love in the month of February, I set my intention for the next four weeks -- baby steps -- want to join me?
I will stop and ask myself at least three times a day, "How much can I love this person? How can I make this person feel better, more comfortable?"

New Pangu Yoga Events for 2013 and Master Ou Pangu Shengong Workshops !
|
As Pangu Yoga's popularity continues to grow,we wanted to share the excitement and experiences of a recent participant from our January workshop in Gainesville, Fla.! As Anisha says, "It's experiences like these that really keep me going as a healer and teacher."
"First I felt a deep connection within each cell in my body and the importance of consciously being aware of that connection. As we were doing the practice, I felt my being communicating on the cellular level to receive all that Pangu is offering connecting the heaven and the Earth.
"Second, it is the connectedness within ourselves with our being that is the basis for the unity, for our ability to connect to the outside world. So, the more aware and connected we are with our inner being, the more connected we become with the outer world. How can we appreciate the growth of a flower if we have not recognized and sincerely felt and understood our own development? The outside world can in turn help us to understand ourselves better as well. Interesting, isn't it?"

Acupuncture to treat blood pressure: A client's story
| Perhaps you or someone you know is interested in acupuncture, but hesitant to try it as a healing modality. We'd like to share with you the story of one of our clients who sought acupuncture as a way to treat his blood pressure at the young age of 30. Many thanks to Jared Stafky for sharing the story of his journey.
"Well it's been a little over a year now since I first started my acupuncture treatments with Anisha in December 2011. My original reason for visiting Anisha was to get my blood pressure under control. At the time I was 30 years old, and every time I went to the doctor, one of the first things the doctor would point out was my high blood pressure.
"The go-to answer for each doctor to convince me blood pressure medicine was the only solution. I asked a few questions and realized once I started blood pressure medicines, I would have to take them for the rest of my life.
"After an initial consultation with Anisha, I figured I would give acupuncture a try before making a lifelong commitment to pills. I began acupuncture treatments, picked up a home blood pressure monitor, and watched my numbers begin to drop. We began with treatments spaced a week or two apart along with a regimen of herbs, and I started to notice a change in more than my blood pressure.
"I had never noticed previously how anxious I would become when put under stress. After a month or two of acupuncture and herbal treatments, I could feel myself becoming more relaxed and clear headed when put under any stress. I still continue my treatments with Anisha, and can now go 6-8 weeks between visits and still feel great.
"One of the strange things about having experienced acupuncture is how many people ask me about it and cannot believe how much it can accomplish. As Anisha puts it: "This wouldn't have been around for as long as it has if it didn't work." I now have many co-workers and family members considering acupuncture for various reasons."
