January 2013

Goodbye 2012, Hello 2013! In reflecting on the past year, I realized the biggest lessons came from and continue to come from my puppy Jade.

Eat when you're hungry, rest and sleep when you're tired, and ask for love and support when you need it -- simple! But somehow it's not so simple if I have to keep learning this again and again. Finding that balance of work and play is a constant challenge, but Jade has been a great reminder that after every period of "craziness," it's time to slow down, have a snack, and RELAX!

Jade
Jade forgives so freely like it's not even a question, she loves fully and unconditionally, and she is always in the present moment, engaging all of her senses and being in the NOW. She is my teacher, my guide, and both a seeker and giver of the most important part of being alive: LOVE. Thank you dear sweet Jade for continuing to show me the path, for reminding me that patience isn't something I give but something I am, and showing me that on the other side of a difficulty, there is LOVE waiting for me, sweeter than I could have imagined. Hmmmm... I think I need to consider being a bit more like the little one in my approach to life!

Happy New Year! May the capacity of my heart to hold and spread this LOVE grow wider, deeper, and stronger. May all of you feel that, know it, and reflect it back. I am in gratitude for each one of you who has been a part of my life, and who has helped me accomplish so much and be the person I had once dreamed of being. Even if in a small way, you have supported me and trusted in me, you are invaluable and a cherished gift.

Namaste,
Anisha

Read what one participant had to say after the December class:
I slept nine hours the night after my first session of Pangu Yoga! Needless to say, it is relaxing and centering. Anisha's calm, gentle presence invites you into the practice and seems to hold you throughout. Pangu Yoga felt like a good yoga session, energy session, and meditation all rolled in to one, with all the peace and healing that come from each combined. I have been practicing qi gong for about two years and have been a yoga instructor for 10 -- Anisha has combined the two in a creative and meaningful way. I felt the effects for several days after the class, and am counting the days until the next!

Master Ou is coming to Raleigh, April 19-22!

Manifest Your New Year's Resolution
with Feng Shui

Create a shift in your life!
Feng Shui workshop at blue lotus, January 12

The places we feel stuck in our lives show up in our external space in the form of clutter and stagnant energy; the clutter blurs our vision and the flow of Qi (life energy). Feng Shui shows us simple changes we can make in our living space (color, furniture placement, balancing of elements, etc.) to create the harmonious and positive flow of Qi. When energy shifts in our living space it creates the momentum needed to make desired changes in our lives.

Feng Shui In this workshop, Certified Feng Shui Consultant and Designer Nicole Folk will use guided meditation to help you create a crystal-clear image of what you want in your life. You then will link that vision with an area of your home, and learn simple but powerful tools to start shifting the Qi. Once you have made the changes at home, they will remind you of your goals and support you as you move along the path.

Winter Water Element

Water is of the winter, when we pull back to our hibernation dens and rest and renew our reserves. In our lives, the power of the Water Element represents birth as well as death, and allows us to leave our unique mark on humanity.

Water In Balance
You are clever, articulate, and wise. You are introspective, and your thoughts run deep. You have a calm energy that calms everyone around you. Your mind is lucid, and you take in knowledge as you observe life, making you wiser than your years would suggest. You are resilient and constant. You have great integrity and are not one to compromise your principles.

Water Out of BalanceWater Element
If the Water Element is out of balance, or is blocked from fully expressing itself, you may lack the qualities above, or have lost them over time as the imbalance has grown more severe. Cleverness turns to absentmindedness; evasiveness turns to isolation; introspection turns to phobic fears; calmness turns to detachment; lucidity turns to catatonic despondency; resilience turns to exhaustion; integrity turns to rigid belief patterns.

In Chinese medicine, as in reality, there is no way to separate the mind and the body. By treating the Kidney energy, you correct emotional imbalances associated with the Water Element; by addressing emotional issues associated with Water Element, you enhance the Kidney energy.
