"Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near." Hebrews 10:23-25
Participant Spotlight: Rebecca Collins

We are proud to recognize Rebecca Collins this month for her acquisition of employment at the Bluegrass Technology Center. Rebecca was offered the position of inputing data after nine months of searching with Vocational Rehabilitation.

While speaking with Rebecca, her quick-witted humor and intelligence is quickly noted. She jokes about what she will do with her first paycheck: "I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it. I might buy a tiger to give to Amber." She smirks at her Direct Care Staff. The two have been working together for months, and as iron sharpens iron, they sharpen one another in their dynamic relationship. "My favorite part about the job," Rebecca says, "is making new friends." A common sentiment shared by many of the participants who obtain jobs.

When Rebecca isn't working or going to school, she loves to visit Joseph Beth and the mall. She is a member of the Pony Club and rides with Central Kentucky Riding for Hope. She also enjoys reading and watching movies.

Rebecca is another example of what one can do when they focus not on barriers, but goals. We are greatly inspired by her achievement.
Christmas Extravaganza

Lord's Legacy will be hosting the 2015 Christmas Extravaganza. We invite everyone to join us as we celebrate the birth of Christ. There will be a worship service followed by a Christmas potluck.

The Extravaganza will be held in the sanctuary of Faith United Community Church (3080 Brannon Rd, Nicholasville, KY) December 18th from 11:00AM-2:00PM.

Please RSVP with Meg at Megann@lordslegacyministries.org with the number that will be attending and what dish you would like to bring.

LLM Presents: Grace Ann Pumpelly

This month we are proud to honor one of our many exceptional day training staff. Grace Ann Pumpelly has been with LLM since July. She is noted for her contagious positivity, ability to bring out the best in each participant, and cheerfully managing every situation that comes her way. Perhaps most notable is her cultivation of real and lasting friendships with the participants.

Grace Ann grew up in Louisville, KY and ventured to Lexington to pursue a degree in Psychology. The influence of caring for her two cousins led her to attend Georgetown College, where she is currently obtaining her Masters in Special Education.

Grace Ann heard about LLM through friends who worked with the ministry. Her favorite aspect of the position is forming deep friendships with the participants. In her free time she enjoys photography and reading, specifically anything by C.S. Lewis. She is four months married to her husband Ben.

LLM is wonderfully blessed to have Grace Ann's light shining in the ministry.

Giving Grace

Give grace this year by bringing your canned goods and other non-perishable items to Lord's Legacy's Day Training Center. These items will be given to Bethel Harvest Church's outreach ministry. They will give away the food to prevent others from going hungry during the Christmas season.

Items will be accepted from November 17th-December 11th.

Special Friends Ministry

"Special Friends Ministry" is a new ministry at Immanuel Baptist Church for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities that will give participants specialized teaching of the Bible and continued freedom to worship, while allowing family members and loved ones the ability to plug into small groups for Bible Study.

Birthed out of a desire to give greater access to the Word for participants with disabilities and to recognize the merits and attributes of this beautifully growing population within the church, Special Friends is a refreshing and genuine place to worship our Creator.

Special Friends begins at 9:30AM and includes music and a Bible Study. Following the message, participants relocate to the sanctuary where they worship as a congregation.

Holding Grace - A Blog from the Heart
Giving Grace: Sharing His Heart with Others

It's almost time to gather around the Christmas tree with family and share in the most beautiful time of year together! This year, Lord's Legacy has chosen to collect non - perishable food items for a drive with Compassion Ministries. Compassion Ministries at Bethel Harvest Church has fed thousands of people since the conception of the ministry in 2014. The focus of this ministry is on those who need our healing touch and helping hand in the Nicholasville and Lexington area. We are asking the families of Lord's Legacy to donate extra items from your pantry or to spend a few dollars on canned goods.

Please let me share why Giving Grace exists. As you may know, Holding Grace is our spiritual development that we provide to our Adult Day Training participants. Each day the participants do a morning devotional together, throughout the month we have various activities, guests, musicians and more to plant seeds of growth towards their relationship with Jesus Christ.
Giving Grace, however, is not about what's within our walls, but goes outside of our building. This is our opportunity to take what we learn each month and apply the principles of Jesus as being His hands and feet within our community. We believe the mission field is ripe and we are His chosen workers to plant seeds of hope in the earth.

Each month we have ongoing commitments to serve at the Hope Center of Lexington and Lighthouse Ministries. As well, John McCurry and I have been able to serve at a nursing home here in Lexington called Cambridge Place. This nursing home is dear to our hearts. One of our residential participants came from Cambridge Place. The services within this nursing home care for many lives that need our love. John and I were able to visit individuals in their rooms, as well as share the gospel with them. We are looking forward to building a relationship with these residents.

In 2016, our hope is that Giving Grace would THRIVE! Being able to serve in multiple venues as well as provide care to our community through collaboration! Lord's Legacy is driven by service to others and integrity at heart. Our vision is to touch hearts through His grace and we believe that we do this one act of service at a time.

Join us now through December 11th by dropping off your canned goods and non - perishable items to families needing a warm touch this season. To find out more about Bethel Harvest's Compassion Ministries, please click here: http://bethelharvestchurch.com/mft/
