Celebration Baptism: The Eternal Celebration

But we impart a secret and hidden wisdom of God, which God decreed before the ages for our glory. None of the rulers of the age understood this, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But as it is written,

"What no eye has seen, nor ear heard,
nor the heart of man imagined,
what God has prepared for those who love him"

1 Corinthians 2:7-9

And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.

Acts 4:12

In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you.

John 14:2

And they sang a new song, saying, "Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth." Then I looked, and I heard around the throne and the living creatures and the elders the voice of many angels, numbering myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice, "Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!" And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying, "To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!"

Revelation 5:9-13
LLM Presents: Jerome Martinez

This month LLM is proud to highlight Jerome Martinez as an outstanding member of our team.

Philippine native, Jerome moved to Kentucky with his family at age 13. Jerome is a senior finance major at the University of Kentucky and came to LLM from a desire to make a difference in the world. In his free-time, Jerome enjoys playing and watching baseball. He also likes to draw.

Jerome's favorite part about working at LLM is getting to know the participants he is serving, as well as the families. He loves making meaningful connections and developing friendship.

When speaking about Jerome's quality of care, CS Director Tim Wix said, "Jerome has a really good balance between being caring, fun, and personable. The participants love him and other staff rave about how good he is. He just connects with people and is intentional about."

LLM is grateful and blessed to be serving and growing with Jerome.

"Enjoy the Season"

Often, the most fun things in life don't cost a penny, only a little time. We have put together a list of family-friendly activities that will flavor this season of life and make the crisp air and sweet apples a little more savoring.

1. Listen to someone's story. Each of us has a beautiful story to share. Take some time this season to hear someone else's victories, discoveries, and wisdom. It could be the answer to your prayer.

2. Paint pumpkins. Go to a nearby pumpkin patch and pick a few pumpkins with the family. Take those moments to make your own creation for the front porch for many to admire.

3. Sacrifice something dear to you. Could it be time? A possession you own? Maybe some extra clothes in your closet? Give without measure and with a glad heart; Malachi 3 speaks of the blessing of God upon those who give! The beauty of being fulfilled more by giving than receiving is a blessing that has no price.

4. Enjoy a brisk walk following the sweet taste of apple cider. Don't drink your cup alone, make a lunch date with a friend and enjoy each other's company.

5.  Ask your children, friend or family member, "What would you like to do this evening?" Carve out some time, and make that evening all about them. Quality time is still key to building relationships. Sit back and watch them grin with the fun of spontaneity.

6. Pray and worship as a family. This is something that my personal family puts a lot of value into. We have seen the rewards, benefits, and trustworthy results of this simple yet powerful practice. Sometimes we like to choose a scripture, pray the words, and turn on a worship song (or create our own) and make that time all about our Creator! You will be amazed at how the atmosphere of your home will begin to transform simply by allowing worship music to fill its spaces.

7. Kick your feet up, relax, and know that God has everything under control, and hey, it doesn't involve "doing", but trust and stillness. Trust is an action of the heart and the more we exercise it, the stronger that muscle becomes!

"And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose." - Romans 8:28

Enriched by His love,

An itouch Christmas

Everyone's favorite greeting card maker will be giving a sneakpeak of this year's Christmas line-up at the Wilmore Art and Crafts Fesitvale in downtown Wilmore on October 3rd from 9AM-4PM. If you can't make it, don't despair! As we move closer to Christmas, the new cards can be found at LLM's Central Office at the front desk.

Dawn, the owner of itouch, is the survivor of a car accident that resulted in a life-altering brain injury. Since then, Dawn has overcome many obstacles to turn her passion for making people smile into a way of life. Her card company is a testament of her achievements. When you open her cards you are opening a piece of her life, so that even if she isn't present, she can still get you smiling.
Turning a new Paige

Those of you who have been tracking with LLM know that we have undergone quite the search for a new Human Resource Director. After three months of steady interviews and several wonderfully qualified and inspiring applicants, our decision has been made and LLM could not be happier to extend a warm and long-awaited welcome to Paige Moreland.

Prior to coming to Lord's Legacy, Paige worked at Walgreens for 13 years. She began as a pharmacy technician, which, through the investment and coaching of a Walgreens leader, lead to a career of Human Resources. The human relations aspect of the position spoke to Paige's heart and she realized it was the career for her. Having managed a multitude of staff in multiple stores across the state, she is highly equipped in developing teams to enhance the mission and goals of organizations.

When speaking with Paige about why she came to Lord's Legacy, she stated that she was ready to do something meaningful, that is truly making a difference. "I love what we are doing here. It's amazing to see work in progress without the politics, and actually focusing on other people. It's nice to find a career that gives back."

Paige has been married to her husband Jeremy for 10 years. She has two wonderful girls, enjoys photography, biology, and sewing.

If you happen to see Paige while visiting, be sure to give her a warm greeting.
