2014 LLM Year End Review

2014 LLM Year End Review

LLM Presents: Michelle Roller

This month, LLM is honored to celebrate Michelle Roller. Michelle started with the ministry in September and her upbeat personality and passion for those we serve has quickly caused her name to always be accompanied with a smile.

Michelle graduated with a Bachelor's in Sociology in May of 2014. In her free time she enjoys adventuring with her friends, hanging out with her grandmother, and traveling. While speaking with Michelle concerning what she loves about LLM, she said, "I love my participants. I learn from them what things matter and what things don't. I'm still surprised about how much fun I have and how much I respect them. I've learned so much from them."

LLM is blessed to have Michelle as part of the team. We are thankful for her dedication and hard work to better the lives of those we serve.

Introducing Rebecca Swihart

Rebecca Swihart has been serving alongside the ministry since December of 2013 in the Community Supports department. When Josh Lambert, former CS Manager, began to transition out of his position, we knew it would be a difficult task to find someone who would be capable of filling his shoes. When we first spoke with her, we were thrown off by her full head of hair and lack of beard, but as we got to know her it was clear her passion and dedication to serving and loving others outweighed the misplacement of hair. We thought to ourselves, love doesn't always come in the form of beards and bald heads and the position was offered.

Rebecca grew up on a farm in western Kentucky. She has three siblings and five nieces and nephews. She became accustomed to hard work at an early age and realized she wanted to invest her life in helping others. She has a degree in Social Work and is currently pursuing her Masters. The Mission Statement for her life is to help as many people as possible with what she has been given. In her free time Rebecca enjoys reading and listening to music. In May she will be marrying her fiancé Joe.

Rebecca is eager to pick up where Josh left off, so services don't miss a beat. She is most excited about meeting and getting to know the participants, staff, and families. If you would like to welcome Rebecca to the LLM admin team, her email address is Rebecca@lordslegacyministries.org

Holding Grace - A Blog from the Heart
The Resolution

In excitement for the New Year ahead, I can't think of a better time than now to examine some of the things that define our lives. We all find ourselves saying things like, "If only this would happen..." or, "If only I could just say NO and not give into this habit." I am a firm believer that change begins when our thinking does. No lasting change will occur until our mind has been renewed and the habit of our thinking transformed.

In Romans, Paul says, " Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for your life, which is good, pleasing, and perfect." Through this truth we have the ability to think  and live differently by seeing ourselves through a new point of view. Looking throughout scripture, we see men and women with many personalities and perspectives on life. The assurance of thinking like Jesus, reacting like Jesus, and being transformed daily into His image, only comes through reading the word of God. Meditating daily on the truths found in the living word of God will not only transform your thinking, but your life!

My prayer for us as we go into the new year is that we would make the firm resolve to seek God! However you find yourself seeking God, do it with all of your heart! I pray that we make the decision to confidently give the areas of our lives that we would like to see changed to the hand and heart of our loving Father! His will shall prosper and the plan He has set before time will unfold.

Take a few moments to reflect on the goodness and the mercy of God! If it had not been for His abundant love for you and I, we would not be living in His grace! Lets make these resolutions together, seeking His face and allowing Him to show us the plans He has for us. Our Path is going to look a whole lot brighter with Jesus leading the way!

Much Love,

Meg
