"Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD,
the fruit of the the womb a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior
are the children of one's youth.
Blessed is the man
who fills his quiver with them!" Psalm 127:3-5
Participant Spotlight: Tamitha Parker

In today's culture changing jobs seems as common as changing clothes, but not for Tammy. From October of 1999 to present Tammy has been an employee at Nicholasville Wal-Mart, where she greets the patrons who come in to shop.

On the 22nd, Tammy received her 15-year plaque and pin. She was honored by her supervisor for the length of her service. Lord's Legacy is grateful for the inspiration from her dedication. She is a true example of the power of commitment.

Tyler Lee Goforth

The first LLM baby was born May 25th, 2013. Tyler Gofoth is the son of Leah and Ethan Goforth. After he was born, it seemed a chain reaction occurred that resulted in the pregnancy of numerous other members of the LLM team...five of them to be exact.

Pre-prom Party

The LLM party bus will be leaving for the prom promptly at 6:00PM. RSVP required
LLM will be hosting the third annual Pre-Prom Party on November 7th from 4:00PM-6:00PM. There will be stylists available to help  with make-up, hair, and nails. To break in our dancing shoes, we'll practice some warm up moves and there will be plenty of snacks to replace the energy we will be burning.

Lord's Legacy will not be responsible for participants (unless pre-established with CS staff) once they arrive at the prom. The actual prom is not an LLM facilitated event. Families will need to work this out themselves once the party bus arrives to Southland Christian Church. They will also need to work out transportation home after the prom.

Joy Carmella McCurry

On May 20th, 2014, the world became a little more Joy-ful as John and Janelle McCurry became parents to the beautiful Joy Carmella. Being the first baby on the administrative team is a big role for Joy to take on, but we are confident in her ability to lead the rest of the LLM babies, just like her dad has led the LLM team!

Thanksgiving Potluck

On November 25th, from 12PM-2PM, LLM will be hosting our Thanksgiving potluck at Faith United Christian Church. This will be a time to share good food, great conversation, and reflect on all we are thankful for. A few weeks prior to the potluck, there will be a sign up sheet in the ADT to write what dish you would like to bring. All staff and participants are welcome to join us. The address of the church is 3080 Brannon RD, Nicholasville, KY 40356.

Remember, the offices and the Center will be closed on the 27th. On the 28th, the Friday after Thanksgiving, the Day Training Center will be open; however the administrative offices will be closed.

Noah Preston Reed

Noah Reed was born to Regi and Alisa Reed on June 23rd after 25 hours of labor. He came at 41 weeks, which is actually 82 weeks in pregnancy time. Noah is a happy, social baby who loves interaction. He is also a fan of snuggling, cuddling, and nuzzling.

Join us Sunday, November 9th from 2PM-4PM for the release of the itouch Christmas collection. The owner of itouch will be premiering the new holiday collection at her home on 501 Kevin Dr, Nicholasville, KY 40356.

Dawn, the owner of itouch, is the survivor of a car accident that resulted in a life-altering brain injury. Since then, Dawn has overcome many obstacles to turn her passion for making people smile into a way of life. Her card company is a testament of her achievements. When you open her cards you are opening a piece of her life, so that even if she isn't present, she can still get you smiling.

Paisely Belle Hendrix

The beautiful daughter of Brittany and Alex Hendrix, Paisely Belle joined the world on August 14th at 9:48 PM, weighing in at 8 pounds 4 ounces. At only two and a half months old, little Paisely has already nestled in the hearts of everyone she has come in contact with.

GoodGiving is a community-wide online campaign that exists to benefit Kentucky non-profits. Lord's Legacy has been given the opportunity to participate in the latest GoodGiving Guide Challenge. This event, held from November 1st to December 31st, will consist of weekly trials that will require us to reach out to donors through social media outlets.

You can assist us with the GoodGiving Guide Challenge by spreading the word. We'll be posting about the weekly challenges on Facebook and Twitter and sending out constant contact emails at least once weekly.  Make sure you "like" us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter.  As we post about the challenge, you can repost, retweet, email, text, and call to help get the word out.
Judah Athan Lambert

Judah was born with a roar on September 6th, 2014 at 6 pounds 12 ounces. The son of Josh and Kelli Lambert, this little guy couldn't be much cuter. It is certain that, like his dad, Judah will grow up to be a mighty man of God.

Thanksgiving: More than a yearly holiday

As we know, Thanksgiving is an annual holiday marked as a time for giving thanks for the previous year's harvest and looking forward to the new season's harvest. As follows of Jesus, we believe Thanksgiving is quite a bit more than a one day celebration.

In the book of Psalms, the majority of King David's writings involved the act of thanksgiving:

"Come let us sing for joy to the Lord; Let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. For the Lord is the great God, the great King above all gods." -Psalm 95:1-3

Giving thanks and engaging in gratitude to the Lord who has provided, will provide, and never cease to provide for His children is praise worthy year long. Having the opportunity every day to embrace praise and thankfulness to the great King for all He has done is an example to others of the worthiness of our King.

This season may not be your favorite due to family, past memories, or other reasons; however, we can make thankfulness and thanksgiving a part of our everyday life by remembering the faithfulness of Jesus and all that He does on our behalf. Thankfulness is truly a posture of prayer and without it our life will surely shrivel up. Lavish those around you in thanksgiving, this season will turn out better than you expect!

Enriched by His love,
Meg

Elijah Asher Wix

The most recent addition to the LLM baby crew, Elijah is that baby who just didn't want to leave the womb. The son of Timothy and Carissa Wix, Elijah was born at 3:37 PM on October 20th at 6 pounds 3 ounces. Elijah already possesses Tim's sensitive nature and Carissa's sweetness.

LLM Staff Banquet Both Delicious and "Awarding"

Lord's Legacy would like to thank all the DSPs who attended the Staff Banquet last month at Asbury. We are truly blessed to have such dedicated and hardworking team members. We'd like to congratulate again Kimi Sailo and Julie Thomas, who were the recipients of the Heart of a Mader and The Legacy Award respectively.

In case you missed it, here is a video depicting how incredibly happy Direct Support Professionals make us.
