Quote of the Month
"The gospel is not a doctrine of the tongue, but of life. It cannot be grasped by reason and memory only, but it is fully understood when it possesses the whole soul and penetrates to the inner recesses of the heart." -John Calvin

Ballin' For a Cause

LLM will be hosting our 2nd Annual Ballin' for a Cause this spring. This was a huge success last year, not only as a fundraiser, but as a community event in which EVERYONE was included!  The tournament will be on Saturday, April 5th from 9am-4pm at Faith United Community Church (3080 Brannon Road Nicholasville, KY).

There are 3 players per team and everyone is invited to participate. The cost is $45 per team and cash prizes will be given to the overall championship team.  All proceeds will go to enriching the lives of those we serve by providing optimum supports.  If you're interested in participating sign up through our website, www.lordslegacyministries.org by March 24th. Mallory will email you back with further instructions.

Even if you're not able to participate or attend, you can help us by spreading the word about this event and sharing the event information of your facebook page.

Holding Grace - A blog from the heart

We are about ready to kick off March! We have the first day of spring coming our way-the initiation of a new season. Often, as Christians, I think we are waiting around for the next blessing, big break, or some favor to come our way. Don't get me wrong, waiting isn't bad. Jesus waited.  He died, He was buried, and on the third day He rose again! He could have finished everything in one day, yet He chose to wait for the revelation of triumphant truth and victory until the third day (Luke 24). Just waiting; however, with little to no action on our part is going to provide just a part of His promise. Making a lifestyle out of the scripture, "Faith without works is dead" is a motto that pleases a father's heart.

This March the theme for Holding Grace is "Raise the banner". It's kinda a funny way of saying, "It's time to raise the standard in the ways we look at Jesus, life, and people." We all have standards and morals in our life we have adopted throughout the years; however, the standard of Christ is unlike any other. His standard is perfect and without spot or blemish, a standard and way of existing that we will always fall short of. The amazing truth that turns our imperfect existence around is that as Christ followers, we hold in our hearts and over our lives the banner of His finished work! Possessing a grace that is too wonderful to understand, everyone has the opportunity to live a life of freedom. Not the perfect life, but a life that is forgiven.

The task this month as we pray and ask Jesus to raise the standard in our lives is a dual challenge. We are challenging ourselves to pray and call upon God as the source of all life, while He is challenging us to the belief that no longer are we slaves to a method or religion, but slaves to righteousness and relationship with our Almighty Father who loves us more than we imagine.

Much Love,

Meg

LLM Presents: Joe Haas

Joe Haas started with LLM last summer. When Joe was told that he won the 50 dollars for being an exceptional staff he began to tell his story...

Let me explain why I work with Lord's Legacy. After military service, I was a tough guy. I was prepared to do whatever it took to make it big in this mean old world. Then something changed... I got a son! He was a "perfect" child right up until he contracted meningitis at only five months of age.  He was at  death's door but somehow survived. Later, we discovered he was deaf with developmental difficulties and other challenges. Yet he was a blessing. I learned what it meant to be compassionate, to be patient, to stand up for those weak and in need. I learned how to be a man.

S
ince my semi-retirement last year, I have been able to assist those like John.  It is my way of giving thanks to God for the blessings I have been given.

I cherish my visits with my friend "Big Man" David Shearer. He is a big, friendly guy who has his own business designing tee shirts. We tease each other, we make plans, we exercise together.
We get goofy, we get serious. All the while, Dave grows in knowledge, experience and personal skills. And so do I.

I am married to the former Dahlia Hays of Jackson, KY. Our daughter Leah is married with three children and living in Lexington. Our son John is single and lives in Danville.

We are grateful for Joe and everything he has brought to the ministry.
LLM Easter Brunch

On Thursday April 17th at 10:30AM we will be hosting our traditional Easter Brunch at Faith United Community Church. Events will include breakfast, worship, communion, an Easter Egg hunt, and arts and crafts. We welcome families to bring breakfast dishes if they would like, or just come to enjoy the food and events. This celebratory brunch will be focused on Christ's conquering the grave and making the way for us to have eternal life with him.

Disney On Ice: Rockin Ever After

Disney on Ice: Rockin' Ever After will be coming to Rupp Arena in April.  The  promoter for the event is not offering a rate for charitable organizations, but we are able to participate in the group order rate, which means tickets are only $12 each.

The two dates/time frames that we will be taking up group rate ticket orders for are
Friday, April 11th at 10:30 am & Saturday, April 12th at 7:00 pm.  We're putting a limit of 15 tickets per family to ensure that everyone can participate. To order tickets, contact Mallory at 859-245-2233 or mallory@lordslegacyministries.org with your name, # of tickets you want, the date of the show you want tickets for, and if any of the tickets will need to be in accessible seating.

All ticket orders and payments are due into Mallory no later than 5:00 pm on Thursday, March 13th.  The ADT program will have an outing for the Friday 10:30 am showing, so if your loved one plans to attend, tickets will need to be ordered and paid for by March 13th as well (please specify if your loved will be attending as part of the ADT outing).
Goodsearch is a search engine that donates 50 percent of its sponsored search revenue to the charities and schools designated by its users. By using the Yahoo powered search engine, you can raise money for LLM every time you search. All you have to do is go www.goodsearch.com to and type in "Lord's Legacy Life Ministries" as your cause. Whenever you make a search a penny will be made for LLM. We encourage everyone who has a heart for the mission and work we do here to start using this easy tool to raise resources.

Easy ways to use the search engine is to make the search engine your homepage and put it as your toolbar. If you don't know how to do this, please call us or bring your laptop in and we'll show you how to set it up.

Imagine the good all of us searching together will do.
