Read the Petition To: U.S.Congress The relationship between a father and his child is a relationship that should be honored, respected, and encouraged. This country is facing an epidemic of children growing up without the love, support, and encouragement that a father can provide. Data from the U.S. Dept. Health and Human Services shows that children from fatherless homes are: 5 times more likely to commit suicide. 32 times more likely to run away. 20 times more likely to have behavioral disorders. 14 times more likely to commit rape. 9 times more likely to drop out of school. 10 times more likely to abuse chemical substances. 9 times more likely to end up in a state operated institution. 20 times more likely to end up in prison. The Committed Fathers Alliance is dedicated to enhance the relationship between fathers and their children. In an effort to restore strained relationships and enhance existing relationships between fathers and their children, the Committed Fathers Alliance is proposing a National Father Daughter Recognition Day to be held on the third Saturday in the month of April and a National Father Son Recognition Day to be held on the third Saturday in the month of July. These are days where the relationship between a father and his daughter and a father and his son can be celebrated by the general public along with the father and his child. These will be special days where a father can enhance the relationship with his children by sharing an activity, special event, or dinner as a means of showing the love and commitment he has for his child. Please help our efforts to establish these special days by signing this petition in order to show your support of the importance of reestablishing and enhancing the father children relationships in this country.
