I am very excited about the upcoming months. We have had a good response to the Father of the Year survey to this date. We will share with you some of the results thus far but we need more input. If you have already responded to the survey I want to thank you and ask that you share the link with your family, friends, and associates.  Every response helps. The Father of the Year Expansion project also is looking very promising. We have received responses of interest and support from organizations in various states and we hope to launch this project sometime in September. This is the beginning of an exciting time for Committed Fathers Alliance and we want to thank all of you who read our newsletter and gave us your support.

Expansion of the CFA Father of the Year

After the completion of the 2nd Annual Father of the Year Selection, Committed Fathers Alliance has decided to expand our program. There are so many good fathers out there that does not get noticed that we want to recognized more than just one per year. We are in the planning stages of implementing a Father of the Year for each state in addition to our National Father of the Year. We would like to reward each Father of the Year with a trip to the NPCL International Fatherhood Conference. In order to accomplish this we will need your help. We need Fatherhood programs to step up and partner with us as State representatives in the coordination and selection process of the CFA Father of the Year for your state. Yet before we can accomplish any of this we have to gather information on what you believe is the need in your communities.

Please go to the following link and fill out our Father of the Year survey:

Please share the link to this survey with all of your clients and associates. The more of a response that we get the better we can generate plans to implement  the Father of the Year expansion project.

If you are interested in helping us in this mission and want to see a more in depth  picture of the fund raising efforts necessary to accomplish this goal then please contact us. Lets allow our actions to demonstrate what we say with our words that we support and recognize the importance of Responsible Fatherhood.

Radford Dockery CFA's Father of the Year was invited to speak at the National Association for Relationship and Marriage Education Conference held on July 2oth through July 25th in Baltimore, Maryland. During that time Mr. Dockery also had the opportunity to speak with Congressman Steve Cohen (serving Tennessee's 9th District, Memphis/Shelby County) about responsible fatherhood and the watch dog program. Congratulation to Mr. Dockery on a job well done and keep up the good work.

Father Daughter Dance 2012
Dance With My Father

This month we have come across an organization that host a Father Daughter dance every year in Durham, North Carolina. This year they had their largest turnout with over 250 attendees. Committed Fathers Alliance would like to congratulate Mr. Bruce Farmer for hosting such a successful event that celebrates the relationship between a daughter and her father.  Members in the Durham, N.C. area give your support by reviewing their website (http://www.dancewithmyfather.com/ ) and donating to Future Father Daughter Dances. Please watch the video all the way to the end.  It brought tears to my eyes.

Father Son Father Daughter Recognition Day Petition

Read the Petition

To:  U.S.Congress

The relationship between a father and his child is a relationship that should be honored, respected, and encouraged. This country is facing an epidemic of children growing up without the love, support, and encouragement that a father can provide. Data from the U.S. Dept. Health and Human Services shows that children from fatherless homes are:

· 5 times more likely to commit suicide.

· 32 times more likely to run away.

· 20 times more likely to have behavioral disorders.

· 14 times more likely to commit rape.

· 9 times more likely to drop out of school.

· 10 times more likely to abuse chemical substances.

· 9 times more likely to end up in a state operated institution.

· 20 times more likely to end up in prison.

The Committed Fathers Alliance is dedicated to enhance the relationship between fathers and their children. In an effort to restore strained relationships and enhance existing relationships between fathers and their children, the Committed Fathers Alliance is proposing a National Father Daughter Recognition Day to be held on the third Saturday in the month of April and a National Father Son Recognition Day to be held on the third Saturday in the month of July. These are days where the relationship between a father and his daughter and a father and his son can be celebrated by the general public along with the father and his child. These will be special days where a father can enhance the relationship with his children by sharing an activity, special event, or dinner as a means of showing the love and commitment he has for his child. Please help our efforts to establish these special days by signing this petition in order to show your support of the importance of reestablishing and enhancing the father children relationships in this country.

Sincerely,
