tourismZA - connecting your to tourism in South Africa
(this edition reaches 5,632 tourism companies AND 7,296 active travellers)
November 2012
Greetings!

We are bringing in Swiss and German tourists, we have finalised our exhibition marketing strategy for 2013 and we now have over 7,000 active travelers in our network.

Now is a good  time to get some of your marketing plans squared away for the beginning of 2013.

This edition looks at some of the marketing interventions tourismZA has in place to assist and compliment the marketing strategies of participating tourism companies so that they can focus on delivering their respective products and services.

Our exhibition marketing business unit designs, builds and manages display logistics (and in some cases assists with funding through TEP) - in 2013 we focus on seven adventure themed expos; these include Indaba, Getaway and the Cape Argus Cycle Tour expo.

Our state of the art newsletter, email marketing and tourism database management made available through our business partner in the USA is an easy and cost effective way to stay in touch with the contacts that result from the expos you attend and your existing contacts.

tourismZA's third business unit provides events and activities so that can directly engage with its customers in their personal space. In other words tourismZA provides and assists with events that are of interest to your clients so that you can reach them personally in a space of their choosing.

In-between all of this, in an effort to engage international travellers in their respective countries, we brought Gabriella von Glasow out to SA from Switzerland and took her on a one month tour of Cape Town, the West Coast and Eastern  Cape and introduced her to the real South Africa.

Have a look at our complimentary, no strings attached special offer and give us a call.  The tourismZA team is willing and able to assist you at your convenience.

Warm regards and safe travelling

tourismZA
introduces Swiss tourism consultant to real South African adventure

Gabriella von Glasow of tourismZA flew into Cape Town from Switzerland to explore and research adventure destinations for the Swiss and German tourism market in South Africa. During her four week stay she visited the Garden Route, the West Coast and finally the Wild Coast where she met up with Eddie Marafane the executive director, Destination Tourism for the Eastern Cape and discussed some of the attractions and tourism initiatives of the region.

"The focus of my visit to South Africa was not about accommodation and facilities" said von Glasow, "I was looking for real South African adventures that are linked to places to stay. More than that, read more.

Tourism Industry Review: Farr Out
Farr Out in Paternoster

No matter what anyone might say, the South African West Coast is harsh 'outback' country. Protected by the icy Benguela current that flows Northwards along its shores and winds that will blow you off your feet in June, this coastline was arguably one of the Western Cape's best kept secrets.

On the outskirts of Paternoster, on the left hand side, just before you get into town you will find a small oasis unlike any other you may have seen before. This is a place frequented by iridescent sun birds, tortoise, rabbits and deer. It is a place that provides food for the soul and re-energises your mind. Farr Out guest house has everything you would expect from a four star establishment. But this is far more than just another four star establishment, this is a private place where your hosts, Marion and Deon, have sculpted a luxurious offbeat home from home.  Read more

Paddling for Smiles
Paddling for SmilesOn 20th October 2012, Richard Kohler set off, for his second attempt, from the SA-Namibia border on an epic surf ski adventure. He'll paddle the whole 2600-kilometre South African coastline, ending at the Mozambique border, to raise money for Operation Smile.

More than 20 paddlers from around Cape Town joined Richard Kholer as he paddled in to Cape Town. Amongst them was Jade Carstens. Jade was born with a cleft palate which was corrected after seven years, "He has no idea how great it is, what he is doing, I never thought people knew or cared about this," said Jade.
