The Prediction Party is an annual event and will open with sharing the prior year's predictions. Next, members of the audience and psychics will determine the questions we want answered for 2013; they can be about the environment, politics, world health changes, the stock market, economy etc.  Then the future will be read by the graduate psychics trained in the Age of Aquarius One Year Psychic program.

Fee: There is a $20 charge for this event as each member of the audience will be allowed one personal question to be answered by the team of psychics.

jan image 4 Please Do Not "Should on Yourself"

In my grad class we had an interesting discussion about punishment energy. Punishment energy is predominant in the world; it comes culturally from most religions. These religions tell us that in order to reach nirvana or heaven we need to suffer. All major religions love martyrs and suffering! That's how they get Saints!

Did you know that the opposite is true? Suffering is actually punitive and damaging to your body, your body doesn't like it. Punishment and suffering is not an easy way to learn lessons.


Unfortunately we have picked this model up. Most of us believe to receive life lessons we need to suffer or have punishment energy in our space. One of the ways that we do this is to "should" on ourselves. You say to yourself after you've done something, "I should have done it this way" or when you're trying to make yourself do something you say "I really should do this". Any time we "should on ourselves" we are punishing ourselves and trying to force ourselves to do something.

Did you choose to make resolutions for the New Year or are you planning to make resolutions?

With all of our wonderful "punishment" training we take to New Year's resolutions like a duck takes to water and boy do we punish ourselves. Most people make resolutions because they are unhappy about something they are doing or not doing so they make punitive resolutions to make the desired changes.

 

I will lose so much weight

I will never eat a dessert again

I will get up every morning and do this ......  

I will exercise so many times per week

 

We take our "should" list, we should do this we should do that we should do the other thing, and we turn them into New Year's resolutions. We start the punishment early and often. Isn't that a horrible way to start a new year? So what happens is we keep our New Year's resolutions for exactly as long as we are able to force ourselves with the use of willpower to keep them.

Our bodies hate being punished so we either rebel or hold a pity party.

Now that you understand why it was so hard to keep your resolutions.

Accentuate the positive!

 
jan image 3For example two common resolutions are about food and exercise. Saying "I will never eat dessert again" is punishment and stopping you from doing something pleasurable. So a new positive habit could be to follow a healthy eating plan allowing planned treats to be part of the food we are choosing to eat that day.
 
Or, instead of forced exercise, ask your body during the day what type of moving would you like to be doing now? Then go and do it!

Be grateful; write down what you're grateful for especially any habits that you used in the past. It is important to thank the habits for serving you.

Finally write positive affirmations, choosing what it is that you would like for the coming year! Our bodies need 5 things to stay happy.
(1) Food (2) Fun (3) Sleep (4) Sex and (5) Exercise. Honor your body as you design new positive habits for the New Year.

 

Focusing on the positive is one half of the equation. Have a plan that you use when the new habit falls away.

You cannot help anyone else unless you take care of yourself first. My philosophy is care for myself first and then I am able to help others. I help others because it is easy. I don't have to suffer punishment; I can still receive my growth and my understanding in this lifetime.  This happens when I'm functioning in my highest and best self.  I have lived with punishment energy and have used punishment energy on myself in the past. Sometimes I still fall into that old pattern and suffer. My trick now is to catch it as soon as I can, release the punishment energy and replace it with positive affirmations!
