Astrologically, the March Equinox marks the beginning of the astrological year.
Astrologically, this is the entry of the Sun into the Fire Sign of Aries, the Ram. Aries is traditionally ruled by Mars, so the ancient Roman festivals of the equinox centered on Mars (hence the name of the month "March"). So ... you can see why the time is right to start off your spiritual new year with new energy that can then manifest for the rest of the year.
