"Turkey Hunt": A Great Opportunity for Holiday Involvement

Believe it or not, the holiday season is just around the corner, and here at Mid-Ohio Foodbank we are already thinking about Thanksgiving. Many families in central and eastern Ohio can't afford a Thanksgiving meal. But you can help!

Now through November 9th, participate in our Turkey Hunt in a number of ways. Every $13.80 donated provides a 12-pound turkey to a local family. You can even hold a Thanksgiving food drive at your work or school collecting items to go with your turkey, like canned green beans, yams, gravy mixes, pie filling, mushroom soup, cranberry sauce, etc. And don't worry - we'll provide the fresh produce to go with these items!

Please have donations to the Foodbank by November 9th so we can get them to families in need. Click here for more information.

"Hands for Hunger": Saturday, October 27

Help us line the streets of Grove City on Make a Difference Day 2012, Saturday October 27, to pass a can of food, person-by-person, benefitting the Grove City Food Pantry and Mid-Ohio Foodbank. Immediately following, join us at the Foodbank (3960 Brookham Drive) for an Open House to recognize three years of operation from the new Grove City facility. Enjoy live music, food, family activities, tours and more!

Food and fund donations will be accepted
at the Open House with the help of the Girl Scouts of Ohio's Heartland. Help us reach our goal of raising 10,000 meals!

Register now for your spot along the route. Companies, schools & organizations are encouraged to wear logoed gear. Please join us and the City of Grove City in supporting our hungry neighbors and friends. Making a difference - one can do it!

Did You Know?

This year, Mid-Ohio Foodbank launched a 3-year, 20-county

"Community Conversations to Build a Hunger Movement."

The initiative includes a variety of perspectives: professionals working in

hunger-related and other health & human services organizations,

educators, healthcare practitioners, concerned community members,

and people experiencing hunger. By 2014, all counties in the Foodbank's

service area will participate, with the intent of growing awareness,

energy & support around the issue; defining actions to optimize

hunger response; and, ultimately, realizing each community's

vision for ending hunger.
