Angela's Happy Stamper
Greetings, friends!
Apparently my last email, where we chanted together "Sick of Snow", didn't work.  So, I'm going to simply ignore the weather today.  It can't last forever, right????  Here's hoping, because we have A LOT of great classes, demos and Guests coming up.  Read on to find out more!

Fondly,
Angela

Sweet n Sassy Returns

Last call for the Sweet 'n Sassy workshop this Friday evening from 6:30 - 8:30.  Aren't these cards stunning?  We only have two spaces left, so call the shop today to reserve yours (703-435-0051).

We've had some fun over on our Facebook page with Korin talking about Saturday's trunk show.  Sweet 'n Sassy is setting up their entire convention booth back in the classroom, and at first, they weren't planning to demo on Saturday.  Here's what I wrote on Facebook:

"Yay! I sent an email out last week saying that Sweet 'n Sassy would NOT be doing demos during their trunk show this Saturday - and you all protested loudly So, I went back to them and basically said there would be a riot if they didn't demo. With fear and trembling, they have agreed to share awesome FREE demos this Saturday from 10 - 4 (with a break for lunch). Be there or be square. P.S. The factual information in this post is true. Other bits and pieces may have been *slightly* embellished....
"

Korin (the lovely owner of Sweet 'n Sassy) just responded to my post:
"Haha! We changed our minds before you emailed, so there! We can't wait to see you all again!"  This is going to be so much fun!  Please plan to stop in at some point this weekend!

In addition, we are really excited to welcome Mollie Cox Bryan back to the shop on Saturday, March 1 from 1-3.  Just in time for St. Patrick's Day, Mollie has released the third in her series of the Cumberland Creek Mysteries (which feature paper-crafting heavily in the plot!)  Mollie will be here with all three of her books, so in case you missed the first two, you can get the complete collection - all signed by the author!!!  Here's the blurb about the newest release:  Spring is in the air, but the ladies of the Cumberland Creek Scrapbook Crop hardly have time to stop and smell the roses. Not when famed Irish dancer Emily McGlashen is found murdered in her studio just after the St. Patrick's Day parade--and one of the Crop's own members is the prime suspect. Vera's dance studio may have suffered when Emily waltzed into town, but the croppers know she's not a vengeful murderer. Lucky for her, co-scrapbooker Annie is a freelance reporter eager to vindicate her friend. What she discovers is a puzzling labyrinth of secrets that only add question marks to Emily's murder. Just when it seems they've run out of clues, an antique scrapbook turns up and points the croppers in the right direction--and brings them face to face with a killer more twisted than a Celtic knot. . .

More chances to learn!

On Saturday, March 8 from 11-2, Sandy Boyd (the representative for Dreamweaver Stencils) will lead a FREE demo on several stencil techniques, including the Molten Magic technique (pictured above) and the double-glitter technique.  She will also have dozens of sample boards to inspire you.  Wow!  No registration is required, so bring your camera and notebook and come on over!

In addition, Sandy will be using some of the Stampendous glitter in her stencil techniques demo, so we will have the entire Stampendous catalog out (including House Mouse and Happy Hoppers) for your browsing pleasure.  Make your special requests, and Stampendous will put us at the front of the line to get the merchandise in the shop.  Fun!!!!

Faber-Castell Artist!

Next, the fun continues with a visit from Faber-Castell artist Tammie Wilson!  She will be here Thursday, April 3 with this fabulous canvas workshop featuring some of their newest products including Gelatos, Big Brush Markers, Textural Accent Mediums and Chalkboard Paint.  The workshop runs from 10-1.  Then, join us Thursday afternoon between 4 - 7 for a fabulous FREE demo featuring some of the Faber-Castell new products released at Winter CHA!!!

Interactive Cards with Karen Burniston!

Many of you will remember Karen from her work with Sizzix.  She is now a licensed designer with Elizabeth Crafts and has created a new series of Interactive Dies!  We are delighted to host Karen for an Interactive Card class on Saturday, April 12!  You'll make 4 cards featuring the bench (see below for a sample),
a pivot card, a pop-up card and an accordion. Register today as space is limited!

New Merchandise Continues to Roll In!

Today, we received the 3 new collections from Graphic 45:  Botanical Tea, By the Sea and Good Ol' Sport!  We have 12x12 Collection packs, 8x8 pads and 6x6 pads (except in By the Sea - they didn't make a 6x6 pad in that collection).  We also have stamps and embellishments and some individual papers as well.  Yum, yum, yum!

We also have new spring images from Northwoods, fabulous new Washi tape designs from We R Memory Keepers and much more.

Save the Date!

We are welcoming a new artist, Linda Bradbury, for a series of workshops May 16 & 17.  She was recommended by one of you, who saw her projects while visiting a shop in North Carolina.  This is one of our favorite ways to find new talent, so keep your suggestions coming.  And stay tuned for more info!
