Excelsior has a long history of providing comprehensive treatment for adolescent girls who have experienced physical, emotional and sexual trauma. In recent years we have seen a significant increase in the amount of girls referred to Excelsior, from Colorado and out-of-state, who are victims of sexual abuse and exploitation including the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children, often referred to as CSEC. Spring into Wellness at Excelsior

The students at Excelsior celebrated the start of spring by kicking off the Girls Getting Fit Program. The Girls Getting Fit Program offers an opportunity to promote physical fitness for each girl on campus.

Duck Duck Splash Party - Thursday,
June 13th from 5:30 - 7:00 pm

Help our girls stay active, healthy and having fun at Excelsior's pool this summer.  The girls are in need of swimsuits, swim caps, flip flops and beach towels. 
  
Drop off cash donations or your swim and pool items and meet our girls at the Duck Duck Splash Party.  Enjoy light refreshments served by Excelsior students and cheer on your duck at our own Duck races.  RSVP to Karen Rosen at [email protected] or 303-693-1550 ext. 331 by June 10th.

Last year 395 girls were served (10% increase from previous year.)  Of the clients who discharged, 94% successfully completed Excelsior's treatment program.

 

71% of Excelsior's residents come from Colorado.  Of the out-of-state population, the majority came from cities throughout California.

 

Most (53%) of Excelsior's clients are court-ordered.  Others are referred by a mental health facility or a school district, and some are private placements.

 

The ethnicity of our students is:  57% Caucasian; 17% Hispanic; 13% African American; 11% Multiracial; 1% Native American; 1% Asian
