Good afternoon -

Thank you for registering for the Impact After School Conference. We are so excited for the conference to begin tomorrow! We have a packed schedule with various sessions, discussions, and networking opportunities.

Just a couple of reminders regarding the conference:
  • The Stoney Creek Conference Center entrance is on the left-hand side of the main hotel entrance. Please enter through that door. You will notice the registration desk in that area, as well as several exhibitor tables. This area is adjacent to the Northwoods room, where the Opening Keynote, Closing Plenary, and lunches on both days will be held.
  • Regarding the sessions: The 21CCLC sessions are very specific to 21CCLC-funded programs in both Iowa and Minnesota. If you are not currently 21CCLC-funded, they may not be as relevant as they would be to those who are. If you are currently funded, please plan on attending the 21CCLC sessions as indicated in the program.
  • The Noyce Breakfast Discussion is by invitation only and will meet in the Green Acres room on Friday morning.
  • All other sessions are open to and relevant to all attendees. The two breakfast discussions facilitated by Y4Y on Friday morning are also open to all attendees. The Planning Quality Activities discussion will be in the John Deere room and the Enhancing Program Professional Development session will be in the Northwoods room (the rooms for the breakfast discussions are not in the Conference Program, so please take note).
  • Breakfast on Thursday and Friday morning: If you are staying in the Stoney Creek guest rooms, please take advantage of the breakfast provided to hotel guests each morning. Breakfast will also be available for conference attendees who are not staying at the Stoney Creek Inn, and will be in the area right outside of the Northwoods room.
  • Iowa DHS Child Care Training Credits are being offered at this conference. If you are interested, you may request sessions through the DHS Child Care Training Registry via https://ccmis.dhs.state.ia.us/trainingregistry/ and pick up an attendance sheet at the conference registration desk. The attendance sheet must be turned in at the registration desk or mailed to the Iowa Afterschool Alliance following the conference, in order to receive credit and a certificate.
  • Information Sharing occurs at many conferences for networking purposes. Information shared includes limited information, such as your name, organization and e-mail. A list will be shared with both conference attendees and exhibitors who request this information, unless you opt-out of the information sharing. If you would like to opt-out, please visit the registration desk. We will also be taking photos at the conference, and if you would not like photos to be taken of you, please also opt-out at the registration desk.
  • Exhibitors will be featured both in the upstairs area right outside of the Northwoods room, as well as the downstairs area next to the breakout session rooms. Because this conference is unique in that both Iowa and Minnesota are represented, some exhibitors have offered to meet with attendees or connect during the conference. Please be sure to visit the exhibitor booths, and fill out your bingo card (provided in your conference packet at registration) to be entered for prize drawings at the end of the conference.

We look forward to seeing you tomorrow! If you have any questions in the meantime, please contact Indira Blazevic, [email protected] or at 515-554-1064.

THANK YOU!
