EXPANDED LEARNING
LEGISLATIVE
BREAKFAST

Hosted by the
Iowa Afterschool Alliance

Tuesday, March 25, 2014 7:00-9:00 a.m.

State Capitol

First Floor Rotunda
(South Wing)

1007 E. Grand Ave.

Des Moines, IA 50319

Lawmakers want to hear from people in their communities about issues important to them. Come connect with senators and representatives from your area and tell them about the work you do to support youth and families. The most effective advocates for anything are the people who experience the issue every day. Don't miss this chance to share stories from your community and advocate for expanded learning along with your peers and IAA staff!

Everyone is welcome - students, program providers, educators, administrators, parents, community members, advocates, etc.! Please RSVP to Michelle Rich at mrich@sppg.com.

If you can, plan to spend some extra time at the Capitol after the breakfast. Many legislators like to chat with groups from their districts and give short tours of the Legislature.

Join us to talk with state legislators about the importance of high-quality expanded learning opportunities.

The Iowa Afterschool Alliance is a statewide network of expanded learning providers and advocates, operating with primary support from the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation and with additional support from other nonprofits and state agencies. The IAA's vision is that all Iowa children, youth, and families will have access to quality out-of-school-time opportunities in their community.
