The League City Office of Emergency Management is pleased to host a Disaster Preparedness Seminar to increase the public awareness of hurricane hazards and give citizens useful information on how to prepare of the 2013 hurricane season. Advanced planning and preparation are necessary  to protect property and family from the consequences of a severe hurricane. This seminar will offer tips on how best to make a family disaster plan, make a supply kit, how to stay aware of current weather forecasts and warnings. And help you to focus on your activities before, during and after the storm. It will also include tips on how to take care of your pets.  The Galveston County Office of Emergency Management, Harris County Office Of Emergency Management, the CERT teams of Baycert, Webster, Nassau Bay as well as  Clear Lake Tea Party are participating in the planning, preparation, and presentation of this event.

In 2012, Ted Cruz was elected as the 34th U.S. Senator from Texas. Prior to that, he served for five years as Solicitor General of Texas and was for five years a partner at one of the nation's largest law firms. He has authored more than 80 U.S. Supreme Court briefs and argued 43 oral arguments, including nine before the U.S. Supreme Court. He has also served as Director of the Office of Policy Planning at the Federal Trade Commission and as Associate Deputy Attorney General at the U.S. Department of Justice. Senator Cruz graduated with honors from Princeton University and with high honors from Harvard Law School, and served as a law clerk to Chief Justice of the Supreme Court William Rehnquist.

 

Islamic Society of North America holds conference in Dallas to proselytize Sharia law, labels opponents as extremists.

The Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) web site reports that a conference is scheduled for June 15, 2013 at the Doubletree by Hilton in Dallas Near the Galleria located at 4099 Valley View Lane, Dallas, Texas. Among other issues at this conference, ISNA is continuing their agenda to normalize Sharia law in the United States.

ISNA founder and former Secretary-General Sayyid Syeed was recorded in 2006 as saying,

"Our job is to change the constitution of America." It is the Islamist mission to institute Sharia law as public policy in the United States.

The Clarion Project reported on May 30, 2013 in the article titled ISNA Redefines 'Sharia' for Western Consumption: The latest issue of the Islamic Horizons magazine of the Islamic Society of North America, a U.S. Muslim Brotherhood entity, has an article with an interesting message: The U.S could learn from Islamic law if it weren't for the "Islamophobes" bashing Sharia. The theme of the article is that "Islamophobes" are twisting the meaning of Sharia, and it is up to Muslim-Americans to set the record straight.  Read More......

 BLIND TO TERROR: THE U.S. GOVERNMENT'S DISASTROUS MUSLIM OUTREACH EFFORTS AND THE IMPACT ON U.S. MIDDLE EAST POLICY 

 Why has the U.S. government called certain Islamic groups supporters of terror in federal court, and then turned around and called these same organizations "moderates" and embraced them as outreach partners? In a number of cases from the Clinton, Bush, and Obama administrations, the leaders of these organizations (some of whom are now in federal prison) were under active investigation at the same time they were meeting with senior U.S. leaders at the White House and the Capitol and helping develop U.S. policy. Now these same Islamic organizations and leaders have openly encouraged a purge of counterterrorism training that have effectively blinded law enforcement, homeland security, and intelligence agencies to active terror threats as seen in the inaction of the FBI concerning the Boston bombing suspects and other terror cases. This study poses serious questions as to the efficacy and even security concerns about U.S. government outreach to Islamic groups, which often turn out to be Islamist militants, enemies of Islamic moderation, and even supporters of terrorism. Thank you for taking my call today to Congressman Gallego opposing the Farm Bill, which includes spending $750 million on food stamps and for the attached press release indicating the Congressman's support of the Farm Bill.

The news release looks a bit old, as it references a vote that has already been taken. I understand that the House will vote on the Farm Bill this week. When was the attached press release written?

I believe there is ample time for Congressman Gallego to work to separate the $750 MM food stamp portion out of the Farm Bill before the final vote is taken and encourage an honest, open debate on food stamp legislation.

Our representative owes us an honest, separate debate on food stamp spending. It is unacceptable for our representative to hide such huge spending in a Farm Bill that is unrelated.

I am copying (bcc) a fairly large distribution of voters with this message so that all are aware how our representative spends our tax dollars and can take this into consideration when voting in future elections.
