Moláš'n lab ( Molon Labe) is a classical expression of defiance reportedly spoken by King Leonidas I in response to the Persian army's demand that the Spartans surrender their weapons at the Battle of Thermopylae.
I am seeing more and more e-mails and commentaries on blogs, all over the Internet these days, close with these two words of defiance. It has quickly become the signature phrase for gun control resistance.
So what does molon labe mean? Well, it is an invitation - and a challenge - all rolled into one. From the original Greek molon labe means:
"Come and take em."
This is a struggle gun owners of America did not seek, do not want, but - intend to win decisively.

The Republican Party has been embroiled in a bitter divide in recent years. Two factions within the GOP have dug in their heels and have played a tug-of-war game to decide the direction of Republican leadership in the future. And while moderates separate themselves from core conservative principles in an attempt to appeal to a broader constituency, the split has created an obvious benefit for Democrats who present a more-unified front in their ideology.
Now, it appears that this war between conservatives and moderates has gotten more serious.

 The Ed Koch I Knew - A Remembrance
It's a cold Friday night last December and I am at the reception desk to see former New York Mayor Ed Koch at New York Presbyterian Hospital.
"Ed Koch please," I ask the young African-American fellow serving as the receptionist.
"You're here to see Mayor Koch!" he says rather excitedly to me, exclaiming rather than questioning.
I am curious as to his reaction, coming from a young man no older than 25 and probably not even born before 1989, when Koch served his last year as mayor.
