To Whom it May Concern,

               Let me explain, in simple words, how this all works.

               I'm in middle-level management, at a large American company. I have a wife, her grown son lives with us, in a rented, two-bedroom townhome. We are about as average as can be, in American society's terms. In simple words...we are typical working Americans.

               Now comes my first paycheck of 2013, and lo and behold, the lapse of the Bush tax cuts means my paycheck is about $130 less, every month, than it was last year. Hmmm. That means changes. Here's what they are. And remember, I am a TYPICAL AMERICAN.

               My monthly spending will change.

               Restaurants are out. None at all. That means waiters and waitresses lose. So do cooks. So do hostesses who seat customers .
