are the dates for the upcoming CVTA Fall Conference. The Conference will be at the Hyatt Regency at the Arch St. Louis, Missouri. The hotel is now accepting reservations. Make your reservations today We are also accepting Conference Registration as well.

The Conference Committee is currently working on the Agenda, and as always, we are looking for suggestions from you.  Specifically, we are asking for two (2) session ideas from each member on a topic of interest.

House Passes Competency Based Education Bill - On July 23, 2014, the House of Representatives passed H.R. 3136, the Advancing Competency-Based Education Demonstration Project Act of 2013, by a vote of 414-0. This legislation now heads to the Senate. This legislation directs the Secretary of Education to select up to 20 institutions of higher education (IHEs) to voluntary participate in Competency-Based Education Demonstration Programs ("Program") which offer competency-based education that does not meet current statutory and regulatory requirements that would otherwise prevent them from participating in federal student aid programs... Senate Opts for Short-term Highway Fund Fix, Pushes for Lame Duck Session - The Senate on Tuesday voted to prop up the Highway Trust Fund through December with a modified version of the bill the House passed last week, but those changes now set up a showdown between the chambers just three days before Congress is set to head home for the August recess.
