More than 110,000 Clean Energy Clean Transportation Jobs Announced in 2012 According to New E2 Report
Business Alliance member, Environmental Entrepreneurs (E2), released a report showing that companies and communities across the country announced more than 300 clean energy and clean transportation projects in 2012 that are expected to create 110,000 jobs. "It's now crystal-clear that clean energy and clean transportation are helping our economy recover," said Judith Albert, executive director of Environmental Entrepreneurs (E2), a nationwide network of business leaders who advocate for policies that benefit both the economy and the environment. "The projects and job announcements like we saw in 2012 can continue - as long as we don't let smart energy policies get hijacked by special interests." For the complete report as well as a searchable, state-by-state database of clean energy job announcements, see www.e2.org/cleanjobs. |

Sustainable Napa County Releases New Report Integrating Economy, Environment & Community
In 2007, The Gasser Foundation started an initiative to help local nonprofits conserve energy and water. In 2008, this initiative transformed into Sustainable Napa County (SNC) - a private, nonprofit organization that connects the three elements of sustainability together: economy, environment, and community.
Thanks to SNC's colleagues, partners, and friends, they have now integrated those elements of sustainability into programs and services that reach not only the nonprofit sector, but Napa County businesses, local government and individuals.
Some highlights of those accomplishments are included in this newly released Report to the Community as well as some of SNC's current projects and future plans. Learn more here. |

Next 10 Releases 2013 California Green Innovation Index
Often described as "emerging," California's clean energy sector is now diversifying and advancing, according to the 2013 California Green Innovation Index. The annual report shows that clean technology patent registrations and energy productivity are growing, clean economy jobs continue their post-recession recovery, and the state's carbon intensity - the amount of greenhouse gases emitted to produce each dollar of goods - continues to drop.
"California has shown it can reduce emissions while innovating and expanding its economy," said F. Noel Perry, businessman and founder of Next 10. "Emissions per capita in California continued their downward trend in 2010, and at the same time the state saw a rise in per capita GDP."
The 2013 California Green Innovation Index, released by the nonpartisan nonprofit group Next 10 and compiled by Collaborative Economics, is the fifth edition of the report. It tracks economic indicators as the state implements and adopts policies that help reduce greenhouse gas emissions in California. Included in the Index is a policy timeline tracking California's history of innovative policymaking back to 1947.
