Including Our Differences
Service Leaders: Benjie Messer
Sunday, September 4 at 10:30 AM
How can we become more radically inclusive? This fall, UUCP invites us all to share and understand our own personal histories through a series of "affinity groups," which is an important step in accepting each other. Benjie will personally invite us to join in this process, and (of course) lead us in singing!

Sunday, September 11 at 10:30 AM
This all-ages service celebrates community. It's also our annual ingathering, a kick-off to the year. Everyone is invited to bring water from a place that holds significance for you, maybe from a vacation spot this summer, your own home, or even tears of joy or grief. Together, we mingle these waters together as a symbol of how are lives are woven together in community.

AFD Class:  The Embodied Journey
The 2nd and 4th Saturdays starting in September. 10:00 - 11:15 am, excluding the 4th Saturdays in Nov. and Dec. because of the holidays.
In this class we will explore methods to embody our daily lives more fully. Most of the experiential material will draw from the Feldenkrais Method, the Alexander Technique, Continuum Movement and creative movement. These "practices of embodiment" all promote a creative, aesthetic and spiritual first-person experience of sensing the body through a discipline of awareness.

Open Small Group
Thursday, September 15 at 7:00 PM in Annex B
Small Group Ministry is an ideal way to connect to others and tend to your heart and spirit at UUCP.  Life can feel like a frenzied struggle against a materialistic world, which leave us feeling disconnected from our deepest selves and without the energy to reach out in love and service to others. They follow the monthly worship themes and offer a way to engage the themes in your daily life and grow and learn with a group while sharing your own story, insights and learnings. Check out our Open Drop-In group Thursday, September 15, to see what a small group is like. For more info visit the link below.

Infant and Toddler program offers space for play-based learning and early faith development.  Staff help children embody the 4th principle "A Free and responsible search for truth and meaning," by creating an atmosphere that is encouraging, safe, and intriguing.  Our youngest community members, newborn through year two, are provided a quiet and comfortable nursery to play, eat, and rest.  While toddlers have space for imaginative play, creative play, and a protected outside space.  Care is available beginning 1 hour before first service and ending 30 minutes after the end of second service.

A registration fee of $30 per child helps provide materials and supports our staff and volunteers in our Children's Ministry programming.  If this fee presents a challenge to your family, please contact Katie Resendiz.

Calling All Cooks and Assistant Cooks
Calling all chili cooks and assistant cooks! Volunteer cooks needed for the big chili cook-off fundraiser dinner for Rev. Susan Frederick Gray. The dinner will be Sunday afternoon, Sept. 25th. Make whatever kind of chili you want. Are you a beef and beans type chili cook? Or a turkey and white beans chili cook? Or a vegetarian chili cook? We are hoping for a wide range of chilis, which will be sampled by the fundraising diners that evening.
Not a chili cook, but would like to contribute? We also need a few accompaniments and desserts.
Please contact Cherie Stafford below or call her at 480-200-2345.
