Service Leaders: Emrys Staton
Sunday, August 7 at 10:30 AM
UUs have a long history of expanding our theologies to offer language that can kindle and sustain our spirits. Drawing from world religions, nature, and justice work, our spiritual vocabulary becomes more comprehensive and enriching.

A Spiritual Community for Our Time
Service Leaders: Rev. Susan Frederick-Gray
Sunday, August 14 at 10:30 AM
Our congregation's new vision calls us to be a spiritual community for our time. What are the qualities and characteristics of such a community? What does this vision call forth from us?
Starting Point
Sunday, August 14 at 11:45 AM, Foyer
Meet a representative of our Membership Committee and our Children's Ministry program in the front foyer at 10:45 AM for a brief tour of our campus. You will have a chance to learn about our programs and ask questions in this informal introduction to UUCP. No sign up. Just show up!
Upcoming Classes and Events
Sunday School: Registration for Infants and Toddlers is now open!
Infant and Toddler program offers space for play-based learning and early faith development.  Staff help children embody the 4th principle "A Free and responsible search for truth and meaning," by creating an atmosphere that is encouraging, safe, and intriguing.  Our youngest community members, newborn through year two, are provided a quiet and comfortable nursery to play, eat, and rest.  While toddlers have space for imaginative play, creative play, and a protected outside space.  Care is available beginning 1 hour before first service and ending 30 minutes after the end of second service.

A registration fee of $30 per child helps provide materials and supports our staff and volunteers in our Children's Ministry programming.  If this fee presents a challenge to your family, please contact Katie Resendiz.

In an effort to be Radically Inclusive, Sunday School classes are open to all children.  If you or your child require specific accommodations or have questions about programming, please contact Katie Resendiz.

Sunday School: Registration for Coming of Age is now open!
The Coming of Age program at UUCP is designed for 7th and 8th graders to explore and develop their own religious and spiritual beliefs, as well as learning about the history and organization of our congregation and the UU faith. This year long program offers families the opportunity for in depth exploration and conversation. A Coming of Age Fact Sheet is available at the Sunday School Easel before worship or directly from Katie. Coming of Age represents an extensive investment on the part of the UUCP community.  A program fee of $300 per child helps provide materials and supports our staff and volunteers in our Children's Ministry programming.  If this fee presents a challenge to your family, please contact Katie.

Space is limited and families are encouraged to register as early as possible.  Registration will remain open until September 15th or until the class reached capacity. In an effort to be Radically Inclusive, Sunday School classes are open to all children.  If you or your child require specific accommodations or have questions about programming.

Engaging in Racial Justice
Get involved with establishing a racial justice ministry at UUCP as we explore what it means to be in solidarity with the growing Black Lives Matter movement. Emrys Staton will be working with our congregation to plug into ongoing racial justice work in the Valley, and to deepen our understanding of how racism, oppression, and white supremacy are woven into our lives. Contact Emrys at the link below to learn more.
Maryland School Partnership
At Maryland School teachers have been planning and preparing all week, on Thursday students and families came to meet their teachers/see their classrooms, and Monday morning at 7:30 the bell will ring, and school begins.  Because of your donations teachers are better prepared with supplies for their classrooms, and they know that people in the community are taking a personal interest in supporting their efforts to help children learn.  Thank you so much to all those whose generosity made this collection a success!  We continue to look for people who would like to volunteer an hour a week to work with a student needing extra help with reading.  Please be in touch with Cathy Kim at 602-708-6423 or using the link below if you are interested.  We will keep you informed about our partnership with Maryland School, and how that unfolds during the year.
