The Circle Game: Coming of Age at All Ages
Service Leaders: Gary Ezzell
Sunday, July 10 at 10:30 AM
This spring, after two years of being an adviser for our middle and high school groups, UUCP member Gary Ezzell received his Medicare card. He will ask what it means to "come of age", a question that grows and matures but seldom goes away.
Starting Point
Sunday, July 10 at 11:45 AM, Foyer
Meet a representative of our Membership Committee and our Children's Ministry program in the front foyer at 11:45 AM for a brief tour of our campus. You will have a chance to learn about our programs and ask questions in this informal introduction to UUCP. No sign up. Just show up!

Commiting to Questioning
Service Leaders: Asha Arora
Sunday, July 17 at 10:30 AM
We all have our own individual spiritual journey that brought us to UUCP. Asha will ask about how we continue to commit to questioning even when we grow comfortable with our beliefs. Asha grew up in this congregation and now is a senior at Northern Arizona University. She is currently serving as UUCP's Summer Intern.

Upcoming Classes and Events
Young Adult Small Group
Tuesday, July 12, at 6:45 PM in Annex C
The young adult small group is a place for "younger" adults to get together and talk about issues important to us. We provide a safe space to share ideas and challenge each other respectfully. We are an open group, and anyone who feels they are a young adult-regardless of age-is welcome to join and share their thoughts with us. We meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:45 PM in Annex C through August. Contact Caitlin below for more information and to receive calendar reminders for the Young Adult Group meeting.

Maryland School Partnership
It's July and it's hot! Who is thinking about school? We are because the school year will be starting on August 8 and students will be lining up to enter their new classrooms. Many students come to Maryland School from families that have a very difficult time providing support for their children, school budgets are inadequate to maintain needed programs and teachers often spend their own money to have necessary supplies. Also many students require extra help to master grade level skills. Your help is needed in a variety of ways! Please check this month's Horizons for more information or stop by the back table this month to pick up information about our partnership, a list of supplies that are needed and a list of opportunities for volunteering. Supplies will be collected from July 10 through August 7.
Summer of Action Service Opportunity
OneCommunity has partnered with the Equality Federation, the Movement Advancement Project (MAP), and Freedom for All Americans on a historic community education project called the Summer of Action. They are having thousands of conversations with people to address myths, stereotypes, and prejudice of gay and transgender people and build support for nondiscrimination protections.

They are looking for drivers! Volunteers
will shuttle their canvassers from UUCP to their turf and drive them to the houses they'll be knocking on. This will help keep the canvassers safe and out of the heat. The turfs are small and very driveable. They are canvassing Saturday July 9, 16,13 and the time commitment will be from 8AM - 2PM.
