The Stories We Tell of War and Peace
Service Leaders:  Rev. Susan Frederick-Gray
Sunday, May 29 at 10:30 AM
Stories are one of the most powerful mechanisms humanity has for passing on meaning and values. How do the stories we tell of war and of peace shape the meanings and values we hold? Do we need new stories?

Strong Kids, Strong Words - Children's Ministry Sunday
Service Leaders: Katie Resendiz
Sunday, June 5 at 10:30 AM
Words are powerful. The RE program at UUCP has spent the year delving into the meaning of the words our community holds dear. Join the children of our congregation as we travel back through this year's themes. Freedom, Gratitude, Peace, Tradition, Service, Love, Truth, Hope, Covenant, and Strength have led our classes this year. Come listen and watch as strong kids share strong words through reflection, song, and play.

Upcoming Classes and Events
Community Night & Variety Hour
Thursday, June 2, 6:00 PM
From May through September, we will be holding Community Night dinners on the first Thursday of each month.  Dinner is a potluck, so bring your favorite dish, and stay for fun activities afterward.  June's activity is a variety hour with Benjie.  Kids are welcome to participate, so there will not be Chalice Kids programming. Bring your appetite, enthusiasm and a dish or dessert to share. You are welcome to bring a sack supper if you prefer.

6:00 PM:  Potluck - Bring something to share
7:00 PM:  Variety Hour

Our next UUCP Variety Hour is Thursday June 2 from 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM in the sanctuary, after a 6:00 PM community night potluck in the Johnson Room. This is a no-talent talent-show, a relaxed, all-ages chance to share your creativity and culture with the congregation. Music, poetry, theater, jokes, inventions, foods, etc. are all fair game, and non-performers are welcome to attend as well. There's no need to sign up in advance- just let Music Director Benjie Messer know what you'd like to do when you arrive.
