Jim Scott Concert

On the evening of Sun. May 8, please join us in our sanctuary for a tribute to the music of Pete Seeger with guitarist and songwriter Jim Scott, who knew Pete well and collaborated on many projects with him. We'll raise our voices for the causes Pete championed, and remember his songs that continue to inspire us. Jim Scott has visited more than 600 UU churches in his three decades of touring, and our hymnals include many of his songs. The concert is $15/person, and youth (18 and younger) get in free. Childcare is provided for younger children. This is Mother's Day, so feel free to bring your mom!

End of Life Planning Seminar
Saturday, May 14th, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM
The Unitarian Universalist Foundation of Phoenix invites you to Save the Date! On Saturday, May 14th, from 9:00 to 10:30 at UUCP we will be offering a seminar on end-of-life planning.  As we think about planning what we will leave behind when our lives are over, our first thoughts are often wills and trusts and "estate" planning; we tend to focus on our tangible assets and how they will be passed on. We might also spend some time planning ahead, gathering information and leaving instructions for our memorial services and for cremation or burial or donating our bodies to science. Attorney and UUCP member Robert Back will talk about wills and trusts; Rev. Kathleen Baughman will have information about future health care directives and Emrys Staton will share with us about planning memorial services.  The Funeral Consumers Alliance of Arizona will be on hand as well with many free resources. Direct your questions and RSVPs to Heidi below or call 602-840-8400 x202

Each year, we form a learning community. This year we are offering materials to help you prepare your mind, heart, and spirit for what you will experience, whether you are in Columbus or participating by watching general sessions, workshops and other events online.
