Turning Towards Gratitude
Service Leader:  Rev. Susan Frederick-Gray
Sunday, November 15 at 9:30 AM and 11:15 AM
Gratitude seems simple and straightforward, but really learning to live a life of gratitude and to be as a religious community, a people of gratitude, means learning to shift many of the lessons we have been taught in our lives. We may need to embrace gratitude with a beginner's mind to embody it more fully in our lives and culture.
Share the Plate with Liberty Wildlife Rehab Foundation
Sunday, November 15 at 10:30 AM
Liberty Wildlife is November's Share the Plate recipient. Their mission is to "nurture the nature" of Arizona. Founded in 1981, they have assisted over 80,000 native animals, and annually present over 800 educational programs statewide. This Sunday they will bring some wildlife friends (an American Kestral and Red Tailed Hawk) to our patio between services (10:30-11:15).  Safety reminders: So as not to scare the birds, we must keep a distance of 15 feet from the birds, keep our voices down, and not toss or throw anything the direction of the birds.
Next Sunday, November 22
Bring a Holiday Treat from Your Table to Share for the Thanksgiving Service
Service Leader:  Rev. Susan Frederick-Gray, Emrys Staton
Sunday, November 15 at 9:30 AM and 11:15 AM
Thanksgiving is a day set aside especially for gratitude, and remembering the many blessing of our lives. In this Multigenerational service, everyone is invited to bring a grain-based staple (tortillas, challah, brown bread, muffins, idlis, injera, naan, fry bread, etc) to share with the community. As we bring gifts reflective of our family traditions, we nurture a greater awareness of the beauty and diverse texture of our own community.

*Special Note: UUCP is being featured in a book about UU congregations attempting to live into a more multicultural, multiracial future. The authors of this book, the Rev. Nancy Palmer Jones and UU laywoman Karin Lin will be at UUCP this weekend to see our community and meet members first hand. Come and welcome Karin and Nancy to UUCP!

The Third Thursday Small Group Ministry (SGM) is a drop-in group so that people who are not able to commit to a group all the time can come when they are able. It is also for those who are new to SGMs and would like to try it out. We welcome and encourage newcomers all the time. Some of our participants enjoy coming every session and we encourage this too. We are very flexible. Our topics are the same as the other SGMs which follow the monthly theme, in depth and in a secure environment, consistent with Reverend Susan's sermons. We meet at UUCP, Annex H, from 7:00 to 8:30 PM For further information please contact Mike Sheffer at (702)353-0980 or email him below.
