Music plays such an integral role in the movements for freedom, both by inspiring people in the struggle, and by capturing the conditions of oppression in the poetry of lyrics. From hymns to hip-hop, we can be motivated and educated by the artists who provide powerful messages for us to listen, sing, dance and march to. 
Share the Plate with Phoenix Center for the Arts

The mission of Phoenix Center for the Arts is to provide opportunities to
participate in the visual and performing arts through quality classes,programming, and events. Events include the Phoenix Festival of the Arts. Classes are year round in painting, pottery, mosaics, creative writing and a lot more. But most importantly, we have the Art Mobile, which delivers free classes to children in low-income communities 2-3 times per month. The Art Mobile program is what the share the plate money will help. The Art Mobile will be in the parking lot and the Executive Director will be here to answer any questions.

While you're enjoying coffee hour, stop by the Coffee Hour Showcase Table and learn more about Unicare and the Open Arts and Crafts Studio. Unicare offers the opportunity to help and encourage people in times of need throughout all life stages.  The Open Arts and Crafts Studio provides a supportive environment to nurture your creativity.

Say, want to learn about a no dig garden?  Ever wanted to have a nice little plot of fresh produce to pick?  Come learn first hand, like we do in the preschool, about the interdependent web of existence of which we are a part!.  Come learn the secrets of a layered, organic compost garden, sometimes called a lasagna garden.  All you need to do this at home is  sunny spot, some water, and a few secret ingredients..  Got desert landscaping and rocks?  No problem.  We'll get you up with an organic garden in no time, and we'll add you to our small garden email list to share the joys and setbacks of our collective and community garden.  Please RSVP to Kim below.

Cakes for the Queen of Heaven

Cakes for the Queen of Heaven" is a woman honoring adult RE curriculum by Rev. Shirley Ranck. It examines pre-Judeo Christian cultures that may have worshiped the female as divine. The concepts of equality and reverence for the female in a religious setting are eye-opening to many participants.

VUU Prescott Family Retreat
November 6-8, 2015
It will be a fun fall weekend at Pine Summit Camp.
