This Sunday, September 20
When Covenant is Broken
Service Leader: Rev. Susan Frederick Gray
Sunday, September 20 at 9:30 AM & 11:15 AM
A covenant is a promise we make to each other. Because we are human, we break our promises sometimes and so a critical part of covenant is learning how to forgive and repair our relationships when we fall short of our promises.
Start of Two Services
Sunday, September 20, at 9:30 AM and 11:15 AM, Sanctuary
Just a reminder that we start our two-service schedule on September 20 with the first service starting at 9:30 AM and the second service starting at 11:15 AM. We have our coffee hour in between our two services with coffee, snacks and fellowship in the Johnson Room.
Next Sunday, September 27
To Be a People of Covenant
Service Leader:  Emrys Staton
Sunday, September 27 at 9:30 AM and 11:15 AM
While a covenant serves to bind a community together through time, it should not been seen as a static agreement. As society and environment change, innovate and adapt, our sense of covenant should also evolve to remain relevant and to help push us forward. We will explore how covenant can provide long-term stability, and also be a useful framework for social change.
Share the Plate with Phoenix Center for the Arts
Sunday, September 27 at 9:30 AM and 11:15 AM
Phoenix Center for the Arts provides opportunities to participate in the visual and performing arts through quality classes, programming, and events. Classes are available for youth and adults throughout the year. Phoenix Center for the Arts was established in 1975 and operated by the City of Phoenix Parks & Recreation Department until 2011. The Center was slated to close, due to City budget cuts, but the community spoke out. The center changed its model to non-profit and has been thriving ever since.
Board Chat
Sunday, September 27, at 11:30 AM, Annex F
In June, the Board decided that UUCP would no longer operate the UU Early Education Cooperative (UUEEC) preschool as of June 2016. UUCP and the preschool have established transition teams focused on a smooth, effective transition to an independent preschool. If you would like to learn more about the transition plan or about the decision, please join us for the Board Chat.

Save Oak Flat
After learning about the movement to protect the Apache sacred site Oak Flat from a massive new copper mine, we have several avenues to engage and provide support. Visit uujaz.org  for a list of links to petitions, resources, and suggestions for actions you can take today. Find and like "Saving Oak Flat Campground" and "Apache Stronghold" on Facebook for current information from Apache organizers. Contact Amy Miskell below if you'd like to participate in further UUCP solidarity efforts including a visit to the campground.
