Break Bread and Make Friends at UUCP. Community Nights are a time of fellowship and community building for all ages. We meet on Thursday, September 3, at 6:00 PM and this community night is a potluck so please bring something to share. Chalice Kids starts at the community night in October.

Many of us are aware of the serious challenges affecting our state, nation, and world. How did we get here? We'll look at the hopeful possibilities for the future, including what we as individuals and as a network of Unitarian Universalists can offer to our local communities and Arizona. How might we bring our UU values to the public discourse to provide a voice for justice, equality, and compassion, speaking for human dignity and environmental responsibility in Arizona?
Meet UUJAZ
Sunday, August 30, at 11:30 AM in the Sanctuary
Everyone is invited to stay for a "Meet UUJAZ" presentation 15 minutes after the service.  Help yourself to coffee hour goodies then meet back in the sanctuary for a half-hour introduction to the Unitarian Universalist Justice Arizona network (UUJAZ).  Rev. Lisa and Katie will present an overview of our state action network.  Join us!

New Day Center Meal
Sunday, September 6, at 5:00 PM at the New Day Center
Live out the UU commitment to serving those in need by serving a meal to the 150 parents and children of the UMOM New Day Center. This is a one-time, two-hour commitment. Please email Janet Williams or call her at 602-291-0100.
Compass is on the way
Our annual program catalog is in the mail. Keep an eye out for it as it contains information about the upcoming congregation year. It contains information about upcoming events like community nights and adult faith development classes. It also has information about our small group ministries and justice ministry teams. Young Adult Camp at deBenneville Pines
Friday September 4 - Monday September 7
The theme this year is "Calling Out for Justice, Calling In to Community." We are looking forward to welcoming you to another amazing camp. Camp de Benneville Pines is the district owned camp nestled at 6,750 feet in the San Gorgonio Wilderness near Big Bear, California. Dates for camp this year are the evening of Friday, September 4, through midday Monday, September 7. For more information, email Geoff Anderla below.

Water Communion Service
Sunday, September 13, at 10:15 AM, Sanctuary
This all-ages service celebrates community. It is also our annual ingathering, a kick-off to the year. Everyone is invited to bring water from a place that holds personal significance. We mingle these waters together as a symbol of how lives are woven together in covenant and community
Start of Two Services
Sunday, September 20, at 9:30 AM and 11:15 AM, Sanctuary
Just a reminder that we start our two-service schedule on September 20 with the first service starting at 9:30 AM and the second service starting at 11:15 AM. We have our coffee hour in between our two services with coffee, snacks and fellowship in the Johnson Room.

Calling All Volunteers

The UUCP office is looking for a few good people to help out in the office during the week. Come hang out with Heidi and Geoff in the office and help us with this opportunity for service. Tasks include answering the phone, light computer work, opening mail, and making phone calls, ect.

We have the following shifts available.
