How Are We Doing? Let Us Know By Sunday!
Please complete the survey by May 17
enterkey.jpgThis Sunday is the last day to add your voice to our Annual Congregation Survey. This survey provides valuable feedback and reflection about the ministries at UUCP. The Annual Survey is a tool we are using to evaluate our Strategic Ends as well as create a baseline to track changes and improvements over time.

The survey should take 10 - 15 minutes to complete. A link to the survey is available below. There are also paper copies available in Office 2. Thank you very much for your time and your input! The deadline for completing the survey is SUNDAY.

Vision Conversation
Sunday, May 17, at 9:00 AM and 11:45 AM in Annex H
The Vision Task Force is in the "drafting" stage of its work - writing prototypes, testing them out, and rewriting. We would love your help. We've heard that we aspire to more diversity within UUCP and to more cross cultural work beyond; to a larger congregation and a larger presence in the valley; to a growing children and family program and to more social justice work. These are not new ideas: so, what is it about who we are right now that is keeping us from doing these long held dreams? Who do we need to BE in order to DO what we aspire to DO? We'd love to hear what you think. This Sunday at 9:00 and again at 11:45 in Annex H we will have sample prototypes to share and be ready for conversations with all who wish to join us.

Next Sunday at 10:30 AM
May 24:  Making Meaning from the Ashes of War and Tragedy
Service Leader:  Rev. Susan Frederick-Gray
Some ideologies make war meaningful. War can create emotional payoffs of solidarity and danger that may mimic feelings of meaning. What is truly heroic is those who are able to grasp the tragedy and immorality of war and yet still find pathways to hope and meaning out of that tragedy.

Learn About UU Camps for Youth
Greetings from the Camping Ministries Team. My name is Geoff Anderla and I am the Camping Ministries Director for the Pacific Southwest District (PSWD.) Did you know that we have access to a wonderful and amazing camp in southern California? Camp deBenneville Pines is the district owned camp near Big Bear California. I know first-hand how integral camp is to the development of our UU faith and movement as I attended camp as a youth in the 90's.

There are two very special camps this summer. The first is elementary camp and this year it is July 5 - July 11 and is for youth that are completing grades 2-5. The other is Jr High camp and it runs from July 12 - July 18 and is for you that are completing grades 6-8.

Some parents worry about sending a child as young as seven years old to a week-long overnight camp. Rest assured we have well-trained and loving staff and counselors who specialize in working with children in this age range.
Please consider sending your youth to camp to see firsthand how wonderful camp can be for a child. If you have any questions at all about me or the camp, please do not hesitate to contact me. You can email me below or call my cell phone at 623-252-5619.
