We invite you to attend one or more of the following open meetings to share your thoughts about the draft or drafts we create:

The Jewish Family & Children's Service (JFCS) Shelter Without Walls program assists domestic violence survivors and their children throughout Maricopa County in achieving safety, independence and self-sufficiency. As a community-based program, Shelter Without Walls is the only comprehensive program for survivors living outside of shelters and the only one committed to assisting them until they become self-sufficient without time limitations. The Generosity Path:  Finding the Richness in Giving

"Every time I take a step in the direction of generosity, I know that I am moving from fear to love."  - Henri J. M. Nouwen
Throughout April, we explored the concept of generosity. Now, facilitators Diana Ashley and Heidi Parmenter offer the opportunity to explore your own spiritual practice of generosity with your time, talent, and treasure through small group discussion.

Volunteer with Women and Children in Immigrant Detention
The Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services (RAICES), a Unitarian Universalist Service Committee partner, works with undocumented women and children fleeing violence in Central America. In 2014, nearly 70,000 unaccompanied children and 68,000 families from Central America were detained at the U.S.-Mexico border. This summer, the UU College of Social Justice is partnering with RAICES to bring support to unaccompanied minors and families seeking asylum in the U.S. Volunteers who either speak Spanish or have legal experience (as lawyers, law students, or paralegals) are needed for a one- to eight- week commitment, beginning on June 7 or June 28, 2015. Housing and local transportation are provided. For more information, click below.
