Nepal Earthquake Disaster Relief Fund Helps Marginalized Groups
Sunday, May 3
With Nepal's record of poor infrastructure, relief and recovery efforts are certain to face significant challenges. That is one reason that UUSC (Unitarian Universalist Service Committee) and the UUA (Unitarian Universalist Association) are launching a special joint  appeal for Nepal relief work. As is their practice with international disaster relief, UUSC will take the lead in distributing funds where they can do the most good, directing support toward people who are left out of mainstream relief efforts.

People and communities whose rights will be most at risk in the wake of the disaster will include people living in remote areas; women and children; lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people; people who do not have recognized citizenship; indigenous people; Dalits; elderly people; and people living with disabilities and HIV/AIDS. UUSC and the UUA are already establishing on-the-ground partnerships and projects to support these communities.
All undesignated offerings in Sunday's collection benefit the UUA-UUSC Nepal Earthquake Disaster Relief Fund.

11 More Days -- Can We Make It?

On May 11, next year's budget will be revised based upon the final results of the 2015-2016 Stewardship Campaign.  We are 97 % of the way to our goal with only $13,325 left to raise.  If we raise this amount, we will have what we need to hire an Assistant Minister and increase Religious Education staffing for next year.

If you can make a one-time gift or if you can increase your previously submitted pledge to help reach our goal, please email Heidi Parmenter.  If you would like to make a financial pledge starting July 1 to support next year's ministry, pledge online below.
