Bring a flower to share at this all ages service celebrating beauty, unity, and human dignity.  This is a one of kind traditional Unitarian Universalist service which blends story, music and the beauty of springtime flowers into a celebration of life and community.  After service we will have a patio party as we bring to a close our Stewardship Campaign!

After service members are asked to meet at our sign in the dirt parking lot for the annual Congregation Photo. Then, party on the patio under the shade from 11:45 AM to 1:00 PM with music, refreshments, and fellowship!

 

MultiGenerational Singing at MultiGen Service!

Our UU Ukelele Circle will be performing a simple song, "Keepers of the Earth," at our multi-generational Flower Communion service on April 19, and anyone is welcome to join them - especially children, parents, and those feeling young at heart! Music Director Benjie Messer will be available to teach the song on Thursday, April 16, at 6:00 PM (during Community Night Dinner) and on Sunday, April 19, at 10:00 AM (before the service). Rev. Linda's Retirement Party

On Sunday, April 26, we'll be celebrating Rev. Linda's ministry and all that she has done for us during her five years as our assistant minister. On that day, we are having only one service to be held at 10:30 AM. The party will follow at 11:30 AM beginning in the Johnson Room with light refreshments. Then, after a fun group activity in the sanctuary, we will present Rev. Linda with gifts and richly deserved tributes.

Learn about basic electricity, V x A = W, cell vs. battery, what does I.C.E stand for, how do you change speed in an electric vehicle, what is regenerative braking, thoughts about range, where can you charge, how nice it is to have a clean garage, and why is the number 10 very important. After All-Music Sunday -- Open Strings Ensemble Performance

Want more great music on May 3? UUCP's bowed string ensemble, Open Strings, is presenting a free, informal recital in our sanctuary from 12:00-12:45 PM. Anne Lackey, Sandy Weir, Susan Morris, Marge Modell, Michael Relland and Janet Williams will be performing Telemann's "Trio Sonata in D Minor," Williams Grant Still's "Danzas de Panama," and the first movement of Schubert's final chamber work, the "Cello Quintet."
5 Years of Resistance Against SB 1070 Event

On April 23, 2010, Arizona Senate Bill 1070 was signed into law. Its "Show Me Your Papers" provision is still in effect. Thursday, April 23, Puente is sponsoring a rally at the State Capitol and a march that will address the suffering under SB 1070 and the criminalization of immigrants by local, state, and federal government. Rev. Susan and UUCP's Immigration Ministry invite you to join them at the event or to provide off-site support.

Each Thursday in March and April, we gather together for a meal at 6:00 PM, followed by programming for adults and children. Bring your appetite, enthusiasm and a side dish or dessert to share if you're able. The suggested donation is $5/adults, $2/children under 10, $10/family. You are welcome to bring a sack supper if you prefer. 
April 23:  Pizza and Salad at 6:00 PM, Chalice Kids starts at 6:30 PM.
District Assembly - Last Day to Register
April 24-25, Chandler, AZ
District Assembly is an annual event that allows UUs from Arizona, California, and Nevada to connect over worship, workshops, youth ceremonies, and the District's annual business meeting. This year the assembly will be held at Valley Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Chandler. You can register for the whole conference (Friday evening and Saturday all day) or you can register for just Friday or Saturday. There is free childcare on Saturday. Memorial Day Camping Weekend at SAWUURA
Friday, May 22, to Monday, May 25
SAWUURA is our own UU 100-acre woods in the Sierra Ancha Wilderness near Young, AZ (about 4 hours drive from Phoenix). Join dozens of other UUs Memorial Day weekend for a relaxing weekend under the stars. Disconnect from your phones, computers and TVs and share meals, hikes, music and laughter with other nature-lovers. Meals are provided with the cost of registration, just bring snacks, drinks, and camping gear. Registration Fees:  $45 per adult ($35 for SAWUURA members) and $25 per child.
