Easter Egg Hunt!

Our annual Easter Egg Hunt will take place on Sunday between services at 10:40 AM. Toddlers will look for eggs in the sand yard attached to room 15.  Preschool - 1st grade children will hunt on the DVLC playground and kids 2nd grade and up will search near the ghost eye tree in the desert.  Come one and all for a fabulous egg hunt!

New Day Meal Service Opportunity

In more than a dozen countries throughout the world, UUSC fosters social justice and works toward a world free from oppression. UUSC's innovative approaches and measurable impact are grounded in the moral belief that all people have inherent power, dignity, and rights. UUCP dedicates a special Sunday offering to UUSC every year in support of its programs. All undesignated offerings on April 12 will benefit UUSC.

5 Years of Resistance Against SB 1070 Event 
Thursday, April 23
On April 23, 2010, Arizona Senate Bill 1070 was signed into law. Its "Show Me Your Papers" provision is still in effect. Thursday, April 23, Puente is sponsoring a rally at the State Capitol and a march that will address the suffering under SB 1070 and the criminalization of immigrants by local, state, and federal government. Rev. Susan and UUCP's Immigration Ministry invite you to join them at the event or to provide off-site support.

Traveling 2nd Friday visits NYC

Join us in the UUCP sanctuary to hear Harriet Williams present the story of Extra Place in NYC from the 1700's to just a few years ago.  Last year the Metropolitan Museum of Art featured an exhibit on Extra Place.  It is exciting history.  Email Barbara Cawthorne with any questions. Everyone is welcome. 

Clean Out Your Closets for UUEEC
Donations Accepted Sundays, Rummage Sale is April 11
Please bring your gently used items directly into our storage pod in the upper parking lot. Open Sundays 8:30 AM - 12:30 PM. All types of items in good condition are accepted. Please deliver large items on April 10 to the patio. Limited pickup of large items will be available. Rummage sale is April 11 -- save the date.

Leave a Goodbye Message for Rev. Linda
Through April 16
Rev. Linda's Scrapbook One of Rev. Linda's retirement gifts will be a scrapbook. Individuals and groups can create their own pages sharing their memories of and appreciation for Linda. Scrapbook pages will be available in Office 2 during Community Night and after each service. Charlotte Carl-Mitchell will be collecting the pages and compiling the book. Those who can't do their own page can send their thoughts and tributes to Charlotte, and she will put them in the book. The deadline for the return of the pages is Thursday, April 16.

Rev. Linda's Retirement Party -- Save the Date

On Sunday, April 26, we'll be celebrating Rev. Linda's ministry and all that she has done for us during her five years as our assistant minister. On that day, we are having only one service to be held at 10:30 AM. The party will follow at 11:30 AM beginning in the Johnson Room with light refreshments. Then, after a fun group activity in the sanctuary, we will present Rev. Linda with gifts and richly deserved tributes.
Taming the Beast - Upstairs Storage Room Work Day
