A UU Encounter with the Bible
Tuesdays, April 2, 9, 16, 23, at 7:00 PM
We UUs seldom explore the Bible. We will explore Jesus' teachings, drawing from books to understand his culture and see how the parables often meant something different than we conventionally think today. His teachings were so powerful that they engendered a major religion. There is reason for us to pay attention. We will also explore two Old Testament books that often resonate with UUs, Job and Ecclesiastes, because they pose questions more than offer answers.

This Sunday at 9:30 and 11:15 AM
March 22:  Staying True to Our Intentions
Service Leader:  Rev. Susan Frederick-Gray

One of the most difficult challenges with intention is staying true to it. Life happens, we let ourselves down, others let us down - there are many ways that we fall off a path of intention. How do we get back on, once we have fallen off?

Immigration Justice on the US-Mexico Border
May 21-26, 2015:  Register by Sunday, March 20

President Obama's executive order on immigration will allow up to 5 million undocumented immigrants to stay with their families in the U.S. - but what will it mean for the human rights crisis at the border? Why did nearly 70,000 unaccompanied children flee to the U.S. border last year, and what has happened to them?

We'll explore these questions and more in our upcoming journey. In Arizona we'll meet those directly affected by U.S. immigration policies and learn how they are organizing to protect their communities. We'll meet with humanitarian organizations in Sonora, Mexico, hear from migrants about their experiences, and walk the dangerous desert paths so many people risk their lives to cross.

Cost: The full cost is $800. A generous financial aid package is available on a first come, first serve basis for those with financial need.
