October:  Living a Life of Forgiveness
FEATURED THIS WEEK
Our Whole Lives (OWL) Adult Sexuality Education
begins Sunday, November 9, at 1:00 PM
Our Whole Lives (OWL) is a series of workshops providing an overview of human sexuality.  It presents sexuality as a good, creative force with enormous potential to enrich as well as to generate life. It insists that no matter what their sexual histories have been or what their sexual concerns are, most people can realize and invigorate that creative force in their own lives by active consideration of it and engagement with it. Class meets Thursdays at 6:45 PM with occasional Sunday afternoon sessions. To register, go to this link. Questions? Email Anne Byrne.
THIS SUNDAY AT 9:30 & 11:15 AM
October 26:  Forgiveness on a One-Way Street
Service Leader: Rev. Dr. David Weaver
Forgiveness implies relationship. But what if one party to the relationship is no longer present due to cognitive illness or death? Is forgiveness possible? David Weaver, a member of UUCP, is an ordained minister who currently works in an assisted living with residents who have dementia.
Coffee Hour Showcase:  Open Arts and Crafts Group & Auction
After each service during Coffee Hour in the Johnson Room
While you're enjoying coffee hour, why not stop by the Auction table and learn more about this year's Auction, or stop by the Open Arts and Crafts Group table to learn about their weekly gathering of people who enjoy friendship and creative personal artistic activity. Want to learn? Stop by the table and talk to Jay- he will teach sketching, one on one, if you are interested. The group meets 9:30 AM to 12 PM most Wednesdays.
NEXT SUNDAY AT 9:30 & 11:15 AM
November 2:  The Larger Circle: A Multigenerational Dia de Los Muertos Celebration
Service Leader: Rev. Susan Frederick-Gray
This all ages service will invite us all to remember our loved ones who have died and to share in a ritual of remembrance, honoring the ways that we are connected in a larger circle to those who came before us and those who come after us.  Everyone is invited to bring a photograph, or memento of  loved ones to place on our altars of remembrance. Dia de Los Muertos is a wise reminder that we do not need to be afraid of death, but we do need to find ways to remember and celebrate our loved ones.

UUFP Board Chat
Thursday, October 30, at 6:30 PM
Come chat with your foundation board members and help us think deeply about our policies. The foundation is our congregation's endowment fund, and, as with all endowment funds, there is always an inherited tension between the desire to save the money and let it grow vs. using it for the congregation's current needs. We face no current crisis or major decision - we just want to include more members of the congregation in the conversation as we continually find and adjust the balance point between short-term and long-term.
