FEATURED THIS WEEK
Congregational Meeting on June 1
Notice for All Members - the Annual Meeting of the UUCP will be Sunday, June 1, at 11:45 AM (immediately following service).  We will elect new members to the Board of Trustees, the UU Foundation Board and the Nominating Committee and vote on the budget for next year.  There will also be a financial presentation and strategic implementation update.
THIS SUNDAY AT 10:30 AM
June 1:  Welcome Opens Doors
Service Leader:  Rev. Susan Frederick-Gray        Living a life of welcome is about curiosity, and a willingness to see what is easy to ignore.  When we live a life of welcome, we make room to live in the complexity and difficulty of life and its changes, challenges and injustices.  How can this spirit of welcome invite us closer to connecting and impacting our world?
New Day Center Meal Service
Sunday, June 1, at 5:00 PM
Live out the UU commitment to serving those in need by serving a meal to the residents of the UMOM New Day Center.  Volunteers meet at the center at 5:00 PM and help feed a nutritious meal to the 150 parents and children who are living at New Day and rebuilding their lives.  This is a great opportunity for singles, couples, families with children (age 8+) or interest groups here at UUCP to be of service, spend time with friends and make new ones.  This is a one-time, two-hour commitment.  Please email Michael Hipps or call him at 602-488-1188.
NEXT SUNDAY AT 10:30 AM
June 8:  Welcoming All:  Hospitality as Spiritual Practice
Service Leader: Rev. Susan Frederick-Gray
Hospitality as a way of welcoming and meeting others can be a deep expression of our values, because hospitality at its best expresses our recognition of the inherent worth and dignity of all people.  How might we live this spirit of hospitality?
Starting Point Tour
Sunday, June 8, at 9:45 AM in the Lobby
If you are interested in a brief tour of the UUCP campus and some introductory information about our congregation, please meet Membership Committee member Caroli Peterson in the front lobby at 9:45 am on Sunday, June 8th.

Share the Plate Sunday:  Arizona Queer Undocumented Immigrant Project
Arizona Queer Undocumented Immigrant Project (AZ-QUIP) empowers LGBTQ-identified undocumented people, youth, and allies through grassroots organizing, leadership development, education and advocacy.  QUIP spans the LGBTQ and immigrant rights movements with a goal of equality for all.  Initiatives include (among many others) "Double-Coming Out" Forums that are interactive and educational media, creating conversation as to how to integrate the UndocuQueer within immigration reform, as well as how to integrate the UndocuQueer within LGBTQ rights.  All offerings on June 8 not otherwise designated will go to AZ-QUIP.

Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don't resist them-that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.    --Lao Tzu
