THIS SUNDAY, 9:30 & 11:15 AM
March 9:   Multigenerational Flower Communion Service
asst-flowers.jpg Service Leaders: Rev. Susan Frederick-Gray and Rev. Linda Lawrence
Flower Communion is an unique Unitarian Universalist celebration.  Through story, drama, and singing we will celebrate joyfully our values of respect, equal human dignity, and the beauty of Spring.  Each person is asked to bring one flower to the service to share.  Together we will make a beautiful arrangement celebrating the beauty of creation's diversity.
Starting Point
Sunday, March 9, at 10:45 AM in the Lobby
Meet Rev. Linda Lawrence or one of our Welcoming Ministry Ambassadors,  and Anne Byrne, our Children's Ministry Director in the front foyer at 10:45 AM for a brief tour of our campus.  You will have a chance to learn about our programs and ask questions in this informal introduction to UUCP.  No sign up.  Just show up!
NEXT SUNDAY, 9:30 & 11:15 AM
March 16:  Children as Teachers of Joy
Service Leader:  Rev. Kathy Baughmann
Annie Dillard asks, "What can we make of the inexpressible joy of children?"  Children are some of the most natural practitioners of joy that I know.  If, as one author says, "Joy is like water flowing" that never stops, children will often be the first ones "to cup their hands, put it in their mouths and, taste it." We will explore what children have to teach us about joy in the wild playground of our lives.
Rev. Kathy Baughmann is UUCP's Affiliated Community Minister and a Chaplain at Mayo Clinic.
Share the Plate: Audrey's Angels
Sunday, March 16
The mission of Audrey's Angels is to enrich the lives of the elderly by bringing interactive programs into senior group homes.  Their Music Program maintains and improves language skills as well as other positive changes that include smiling, laughing, clapping, and toe tapping.  Their Craft Program projects assist in stimulating the resident's creativity and small motor skills as well as alleviating the loneliness and isolation that residents may feel.  For many of the residents they serve, Audrey's Angels is the only connection to the outside world.

Featured Activity Group:  Traveling 2nd Fridays
Friday, March 14, at 7:00 PM
Curious about Traveling 2nd Fridays?   Join us for our travel program from 7:00 to 8:00 PM in the UUCP sanctuary on March 14 (the 2nd Friday) with Arizona Images by Dale Fisher.  For something slightly different join us on a journey around Arizona: a look at people, places, architecture, flora and fauna, and just plain interesting objects.  It's a look at Arizona as art as well as its special destinations with maybe a few tips on taking pictures as well.  Call Barbara Cawthorne with questions at 480-994-1452.

"Years ago, Gertrude Stein reminded me that life is a dance. And when you are dancing you are not intent on getting somewhere. You go round and round but not with the illusion that you are pursuing or fleeing from something. Meaning and joy are in the dancing.  So I sing with the song of my friend Ric Masten:

Let it be a dance we do

May I have this dance with you?

Through the good times and the bad times too.

Let it be a dance.

- The Rev. Sam Wright, from an essay titled  "Does the Universe Have a Purpose?"
