February 23:  Loving Kindness as a Spiritual Discipline

New Day Center Meal Service
Sunday, March 2 at 5:00 PM.

Live out the UU commitment to serving those in need by serving a meal to the residents of the UMOM New D ay Center.  Volunteers meet at the center at 5:00 PM and help feed a nutritious meal to the 150 parents and children who are living at New Day and rebuilding their lives.  This is a great opportunity for singles, couples, families with children (age 8+) or interest groups here at UUCP to be of service, spend time with friends and make new ones.  This is a one time, two-hour commitment. Please email Michael Hipps or call him at 602-488-1188.
NEXT SUNDAY, 9:30 & 11:15 AM
March 2:  The Importance of Laughter and Joy
Service Leader:  Rev. Susan Frederick-Gray
March 4th is Fat Tuesday - an intentional day for excess and playfulness before the Christian observance of Lent, a holy season marked by giving things up.  Similar holidays of joy and merriment abound in other traditions.  Joy is so important to our humanity that religious traditions have found ways to schedule it.  So whether joy arrives by calendar or by surprise, let's make time to remember the role of joy in our lives.
