Be Part of UUCP's Renewal

Welcome to the UUCP Mini-Campaign for Renewal and Accessibility!  We are in need and ready for improvements in  handicap accessibility, sound quality and overall look. This month, we are going to make it happen.

Just imagine new carpet and chairs and better sound quality in the sanctuary.  Imagine safe and accessible access to our main building and annexes.  Imagine having a maintenance reserve fund to regularly plan for future improvements and critical building issues that arise.  This mini campaign is about making our space more welcoming and inviting and improving the overall care of our campus today and in the future.  And we are well on our way!

A generous matching fund has been created to match every gift made before January 26th up to $15,000.  If we can fully use this matching gift - we will achieve our fundraising goal!  No gift is too small, or too big. Every gift counts to help us make our campus more inviting and welcoming.

Remember, all gifts received by January 26th will be matched! Click here to donate today.  Click here for more information about the campaign.
THIS SUNDAY, 9:30 & 11:15AM

January 12:  An Undivided Life

Service Leader: Susan Frederick-Gray
How do we bring our values, our dreams, our principles into alignment with who we are, how we are, and what we do. Compartmentalization is necessary sometimes, but it has a danger side - if we begin to separate parts of our lives from what we value most, we risk the integrity and wholeness of our lives and relationships.

Starting Point on Sunday at 10:45AM
Meet Welcoming Ministry Ambassador Jenny Jones and Children's Ministry Director Anne Byrne in the front foyer this Sunday at 10:45AM for a brief tour of our campus.  You will have a chance to learn about our programs and ask questions in this informal introduction to UUCP.  No sign up. Just show up!
Board Chat on Sunday at 10:30AM
The next Board Chat is this Sunday at 10:30AM in Annex B. The UUCP Board of Trustees wants to talk with you!  The board is inviting all members of the congregation to a series of open discussions intended to improve communications.  Get to know  us, and help us get to know you: ask questions, make comments, hear about what we're doing, tell us what's on your mind. Questions? Email Linda Bellantoni or call her at 602-626-5889.
NEXT SUNDAY, 9:30 & 11:15AM

January 19:  A Just Heart:  Multigenerational King Service

Service Leader: Susan Frederick-Gray
The power of Dr. Martin Luther King's words and leadership was how deeply he grounded the call to justice in a vision of a better day.  He named the injustices of his day clearly but also in a foundation of the possibility for unity and love among humanity.  That bond between love and justice is essential to building the world we continue to dream about.

Share the Plate with the Grand Canyon Association

January's Share the Plate collection will be donated to the Grand Canyon Association whose mission is to help preserve and protect Grand Canyon National Park by cultivating support, education, and understanding of the park.  Our UUCP contribution will assist in funding the "Kids at the Canyon" program, which supports a network of dedicated educators who share lessons and activities with students, and the production and dissemination of promotional materials to build visibility for the program.

"Character isn't inherited. One builds it daily by the way one thinks and acts, thought by thought, action by action. If one lets fear or hate or anger take possession of the mind, they become self-forged chains."
